We arrived with a group of friends, and were seated at a low table on a podium, with cushions for sitting (there are normal tables as well though). The food and service were excellent, even though the personnel spoke almost no English, everything went smoothly, and we spent some very good time.

Hitsumabushi Nagoya Bincho at the ESCA underground mall right next to Nagoya station. . It's #45 on the directory map. Again there was a long line up but you were given English menu and can order before you even enter the restaurant. One of Nagoya's specialty is hitsumabushi: charcoal-grilled eel. Cut grilled eel sits on rice coated with a sweet... More

We visited the restaurant in a shopping mall called La Chic which is pretty near Oasis 21. In Japan the restaurants in shopping malls are usually located at one of the highest floors of the building. The eel was grilled to perfection and was certainly one of the best unagi meals I have ever had. You can opt for the... More

Dinner with family and friends. This place serves eels or unagi as the Japanese would call it. Ranging from bones to liver and different tastes of unagi, this place is indeed an outlet to enjoy unagi. The eels served here is crunchy on the skin while soft on the meat. The soy sauce marinade is sweetish and brings out the... More

For the best Unagi, come to this place!! It's located at ESCA underground center. Look for a long line infront of the restaurant. The Best!!

I tried hitsumabushi, I think this was the most delicious unagi that I have had. Worth the ¥3100. The city view is also nice.

I don't like to eat eel but my friend loves this place and we were extremely hungry so I settled. We had 1x order of charcoal eel bento 1x regular seasoned eel bento 1x eel egg roll and 1x eel liver. Costed us Japanese yen $7700 ish. A little pricy I must say, the food tastes alright but the service... More

Just finished my meal here. My wife and I paid the equivalent of $US80 and received 2 cups of green tea and our eel sets. While the food was okay, the service certainly was crappy. I expected more from my experience at nagoya's premier eel restaurant featuring nagoya's most famous food. For those considering this experience I recommend that you... More

Dined in Hitsumabushi in LaChic 7/F and Fukuoka, the quality was consistently good. High quality eel would always be sourced around Japan. Charcoal grilling made the eel skin crispy while the meat was juicy and tender. To uphold the spirit of Nagoya in treasuring food and discouraged wastage, the signature ‘Hitsumabushi Rice’ bowl was designed to be eaten in 3... More
