Along with Yamamotoya (misonikomi udon), this is a must visit any time I'm in Nagoya. You can get tonkatsu anywhere but misokatsu (tonkatsu with mid sauce) is a local delicacy. Nagoya is famous for its cuisine using miso. This is popular with locals so be prepared to wait.

The Nagoyans love their pork. This restaurant serves pork cutlets in miso sauce called misokatsu and the waiting line extends out into the street. We were the only foreigners. Glad to know the Japanese restaurants that have opened in the Philippines are already comparable in quality because once we tasted the dishes at Yabaton we knew if we ever craved... More

We arrived here at 530 pm, led by the cheery fat pig sign on top of the building. We were shown upstairs promptly. The place quickly filled up with locals. There's an English menu provided. The staff were chirpy and showed us how to eat the miso katsu. The miso sauce is drenched upon the katsu which was fatty and... More

This is a Nagoya special pork chop (or actually it's the sauce that is a Nagoya specialty) that taste amazing! I was told by my Japanese friend that other Japanese people not native to Nagoya don't like it as much because it can be a bit too salty but I liked it :) As someone else mentioned, the port is... The food was well prepared and the miso sauce is incredible. The place wasn't crowded on a Monday night. Would recommend for other visitors.

I was expecting good quality since it gets good reviews and have fairly high prices. The pork contains big chunks of fat (20-30% was fat). The sauce is nothing special. Quite disapointing but I'm told the Japaneese like it this way which is fair enough I guess. Plus there is quite a wait to get seated. My advice, go somewhere... More

The most known restaurant for Nagoya's famous delicacy Miso-Katsu. If this is your first Miso-Katsu experience, try half Miso (Nagoya style) and half "sauce" (common Japanese style). Tonkatsu tastes so different according to what you put on it, so you should try both types!

Famous restaurant, but I wasn't convinced if it was the best miso Katsu in nagoya. If you are in a hurry to taste authentic nagoya then would be an option. In my opinion.

Although many people are lined up I do not understand . Taste and service is also common . In the past, was a friendly price to businessmen .

I didn't expect the miso katsu to taste so good. I thought it would be like the miso in ramen and it's usually very salty. The portion is huge and very reasonably priced. I love the decor but also because I love pigs :)
