Had another terrific experience at The Chef in Hội An tonight. Service, food, drinks and the price were all excellent above expectations. The location on the roof top is perfect serenity and the chef, Son, and hostess were awesome. Got to love the Vietnamese way....Thanks again team and see you next visit to Hội AnMore

Lovely roof top setting. We chose typical Hoi An specialties and were delighted with the food. The Southern pancakes stuffed with pork shrimp and greens was delicious and the Cao Lau (Hoian traditional noodle dish) was very tasty also. Great price for each of these...dishes. Also, a reasonable selection of wine! 4.5 rating from usMore

Worst meal in Vietnam. My pancakes were dripping in grease and had almost no toppings. My partners dish arrived a full 20 mins after mine and was not at all as described on the menu. Both meals were served almost cold and tasteless. We left...having wasted our money to eat elsewhere. When we complained we were given no apology or explanation.More

We entered the art book shop looking for any types of nice souvenirs for family and friends. After a tour of the shop, we noticed a staircase to go to another floor. We took it and discovered a nicely decorated bar. We decided to stay...to enjoy a drink. The cocktail I took was very fruity and flavory. Well done! I definitely recommend this place for a drink during the day.More

Located on top of an Artbook souvenir shop (which has fun things for sale, as well as more straightforward souvenirs and books), the warm, friendly staff here serves very good -- and very plentiful -- food at good prices. I had a pomelo salad and...vegetarian rice noodles, and thoroughly enjoyed both. As I mentioned about the plentiful-ness, one word of caution: the salads are meal-sized; I thought I was ordering an appetizer and an entree and did not ask about the size of the salad, so I ended up with two big plates of food. :) (You might think this would teach me to ask when the waitress looks surprised at my orders, but the food was so good that I just see it as winning a bonus amount.) The restaurant did not seem particularly large, but there is indoor seating on the first floor and outdoor seating on the second floor. There was plenty of space when I was here, at tables of multiple sizes and a few chairs on the first-floor balcony.More

We had a great Rip-Eye Steak and a Burger. Especially the homemade sauce for the steak was very delicious! What also needs to be mentioned is that they served us out of the usual working hours since we finished our meals around 11:15 pm! :)

Excellent food in a peaceful rooftop setting. We went here for dinner as it was recommended in our travelling guide book. It is quite tricky to find as it’s above a book shop and not immediately obvious from the street. We also sat right up...on the roof (3rd floor) which does not have a view of the street (as the 2nd floor does). However, if you got there before sunset, I’m sure the views over the rooftops would be fantastic. The food was delicious - I tried the banana blossom salad which was also recommended in the guide book and I was not disappointed! We also had Vietnamese style pasta and beef stew - all very tasty. Also a good selection of drinks, smoothies and cocktails. Would definitely recommend!More

We stumbled across across The Chef after seeking relief from the busy touristy street below. We saw the rooftop and beautiful lanterns and decided to head up. Service was awesome and staff were friendly and prompt. Food was delicious, I had the Bun Ca (fish)...and my partner had Bun Cha (pork) and we both loved our meals. Most of all we loved the peaceful rooftop setting, it was a beautiful place to dine and a very pleasant surprise! Would definitely return!More
