I tried the organic green tea and it was very pure and nice. The staff are very friendly, approachable and smiley. This is such a wonderful cause to provide gainful employment for people with special needs. Kudos!

The atmosphere was very relaxing and calm. One of my favourite things about this place was the little blocks of wood on each table that customers could use to communicate with staff. It was such a cool experience being somewhere that was quiet or silent. The tea was lovely and the cookies, more so! The only annoying thing about it... More

Sometimes our customers who do not read English or are so "into" their groups and chat that they do not even notice our intention of silence. Sorry if their behaviour was a distraction. Even though our staff are very attentive, sometimes they are not aware of the noise level of some conversations. We even have had to do some training... More

The place is really tranquil and a good place to relax with a nice of hot tea and coffee. This place will be suitable for those that seek comfort and serenity. Prices are a little on the high side as compared to other cafes but it is worth it.

Thanks for your review. We are happy to know that you were ultimately satisfied with our price point which reflects not only our fair trade and wage policy, but also our use of only local, small batch tea leaves and coffee beans. More

Awesome experience. Beautifully appointed establishment with carefully prepared beverages. We were not aware that it was a silent tea house at first. But it was great to open ourselves to communicating differently with the ever so friendly staff, one of whom offered to take our photograph too. Thank you.

Great spot for tea, I tried the red lantern tea which was excellent. I also enjoyed the fact that it was quiet and had a peaceful vibe. Also top notch service. Altogether a great experience.

A variety of green tea and Vietnamese coffee blends, fantastic service and most importantly gives you a chance to enjoy the silence after the Old Towns noise (and hawkers!)

It's located in the heart of ancient town of Hoi An where tourist takes their trail to explore the town. The tea house is inside an heritage building decorated by arts and porcelain. The uniqueness here is the staff, they communicate with customer through paper because all of them are "hearing impaired". That's the reason the tea house is totally... More

We stopped at the tea house as it looked so pretty from the street - at that point we didnt appreciate just how special this place is and how it's about more than just a cup of tea. The atmosphere is incredible and the silence is a welcome break from the bustle of the street. We tried the coffee and... More

Description
The Reaching Out Teahouse, a second location for our social enterprise, was created because we wanted to share authentic Hoi An (which means peaceful meeting) through the tradition of drinking tea and coffee with friends and visitors. Tranquility is assured in our ancient house furnished with antiques. Our servers are all speech and hearing impaired and the joy of silence is reflected throughout the experience. Customers enjoy the high quality of our teas and coffees as well as the gracious service. All of our tableware is hand crafted in the style of the imperial families of Hue and is available at our workshop and retail store a two-minute walk from the teahouse. In addition to ceramics, we feature embroidered tablecloths and unique accessories. Fair trade operating principles ensure that our disabled artisans and servers receive fair wages and work under safe conditions. We invite you to experience our teahouse and to let us know about your experience. We learn to make improvements to our products and services through customer feedback and good reports encourage others to find their way to our shop to enjoy the silence.
