A beautiful Vietnamese restaurant located on the Thu Bon River. Offering fresh produce, seafood and meat for customers looking for a relaxed spot in a garden setting. We use locally-sourced ingredients for simple recipes inspired by extensive travels or conversations with the market ladies of Hoi An. Fish sauce. Cocktails and good coffee. Colorful interiors built by local craftsmen. Great music. And most of all, we have a lot of fun. About Chef Duc: "As soon as I get into a kitchen, I like to create, to cook something. It’s an instinct I inherited from my mother. In Vietnam, if someone is cooking, you're gonna stay and eat." All Duc’s food memories and hospitality with heart are fused into the menus and experiences at the Mai Fish restaurants.

Man Fish maybe more expensive than most of the other restaurants in Hoi An but it is worth paying the extra money as the quality of the food is excellent. My wife had the chicken whilst I had the Australian beef both of which were accompanied by morning glory, pumpkin broth and rice, both of which were delicious. The Vietnamese salads were also also fanrastic. The staff and service are first class and the ambience is excellent. They also serve a good range of craft beers. Highly recommended.

I’m not the picky type and usually dine myself in street foods so choosing this restaurant was concern of isn’t it too expensive or too fancy. However the atmosphere was super relaxed and you could really appreciate the mastery of details. Probably best food I tried so far on my Vietnam trip. Great selection for everyone. Tofu was full of taste and well prepared. Noodles with pork highly recommended. Craft beers for beer lovers get extra points.

The setting is lovely with a view of the river. We ate here at lunchtime and chose the set lunch menu. THis was a mistake because though the food was very tasty it was quite cold. We reckoned that they had prepared a lot of dishes in advance in case there was a lunch time rush

Setting is lovely, quite peaceful compared to the centre of the Old Town. I think it is unfortunate that pop up stalls are set up outside the restaurant which takes away a lot of the view of the river. Food was very nice and service very good. My only quibble is that it was dearer than other restaurants we ate at where the food was just as good.

We hosted over 50+ people at Mai Fish for a pre-wedding dinner party in February. The restaurant provided fresh flowers, balloons, dessert and customized a menu for us - and all on less than 2 days notice. We had arrived and dined a few nights before; we enjoyed the food so much we decided to host all of our guests there. It was the highlight of our 2 weeks trip, including the wedding itself. Suffice to say, our guests enjoyed it so much that our cocktails/drink cost was almost as much as the food bill - and it was all still under budget what we would have paid elsewhere. Highly, highly recommend this place.

Mai fish is a nice local restaurant facing the Thu Bon river and on the other entrance is facing the walking street to the old village. I ordered red snapper fish and the presentation looks pretty good. It was delicious! The price of food is not that expensive considering the location. 👍👍👍

Our guide recommended Mai Fish and we are very glad we listened. Nicely placed near our hotel & in the midst of all the shops in the old town, near the river. Lovely decor, great eclectic selection of music and the food was fabulous.
On our first night, we had the fried vegetarian spring rolls, a duck noodle soup, and a fried/stuffed tofu dish.
The 2nd night I had the red snapper, which was delicious & my friend had the tasting platter.
The Passionfruit white wine sangria is a must.
Service was friendly & efficient. Food plentiful & really tasty.

The place is very nice with an open kitchen where you can see a group of ladies busy cooking amazing recipes. The riverside where the tables are is very nice for a dinner alfresco. Food is delicious and service very good. I agree a bit over priced for Hoi An (but not compared to western countries). I give 5 because it deserves it and I would come back to taste other recipes.

This restaurant was recommended to us by the folks at Rusty Compass and it did not disappoint. After two weeks of traveling throughout Vietnam, our meal at Mai Fish still stands out as one of the best. The menu is a mix of classic local dishes as well as creative takes, and everything that we ordered was just delicious. We also really enjoyed the drinks. We highly recommend the passion fruit creme brulee - spent much of our time eating it wondering how exactly they managed to make it!!!

We enjoyed a set meal for two which was fantastic; so tasty and such varied dishes but they all complemented each other so well. It was the best meal we had in four weeks whilst we were in Vietnam, Cambodia & Laos. The service provided by Vy was perfect; she was friendly, smiley and very informative. All that whilst watching the world go by on the riverside at night made a memorable meal and experience.

Vietnam is definately the country for foodies and for us this restaurant is on top of all choices from our trip to Vietnam. Great location, lovely interior decor, really friendly and helpful staff and food to die for. I am pretty sure you can’t go wrong with ordering anything here! We decided to try a few different things and share them: bahn mi, bahn xeo, bahn bao... and also desserts were to die for, we loved it all, really fresh, colorful and delicious.

You will probably need a reservation and maybe a day or two before you go- we discovered it from fellow travelers who said it was the best dining in Hoi An ( this was confirmed to us by staff at our hotel); and it really was good. Lots of dishes you might not get to see , all beautifully prepared and served. Staff were obliging and the food was good value. Would go again oh about a thousand times more.

We had lunch at Mei Fish on a whim and were pleasantly surprised. The food was fresh and flavorful. We ordered set menus for all of the adults and so we tried many of the dishes. My favorites were the red snapper, caught that morning, and the flan. My mouth is salivating just thinking about it again! The drinks went down easy as well. I recommend the Passion in Love and the Devil’s Advocate if you like sweet or spicy. Our server Kieu was very friendly and helpful… she even customized a delicious and thoughtful vegetarian set menu for my husband! Come to Mei Fish for a memorable meal in Hoi An.

Beautiful, creative dishes in pleasingly attractive setting with covered terrace area.
Mai Fish overlooks the river but is on the edge of the bustle of Hoi An nightlife and all the better for it.
The staff were helpful and super-friendly and everything we ate was perfectly prepared and full of flavours.
A must-visit for any real foodie travellers.

The food was delicious! We had the pork bun with spring rolls. And had the flan and banana with tapioca dessert. The service was incredible! We had coconuts to drink and they will chop in half for you to eat the inside. Highly recommend!!
