Famous for its Banh Mi sandwich after it was discovered by Anthony Bourdain, this restaurant usually has a long line queued for its take out. Look inside the restaurant to see if there are seats (upstairs as well) and if you could find a seat or wait for one, the chances are you will probably get your food about the same time as if you had been in the line. There are many choices and no matter what your choose, you will not be disappointed. We had the pork Banh mi and it did not disappoint. If you are hungry, the sandwich is not enough....order more than one, the prices are very reasonable.

Its usually a very busy place any time of the day, a big favorite with Backpackers or anyone looking for a wholesome quick bite which doesn't cost an arm and leg. Big favorite of Anthony Bourdain. There is a takeaway counter at the ground level with some seating, there is more seating on the upper floor with table service. They serve beers and drinks too Besides Banh Mi they have few other food on their menu. The Banh Mi was good but we found the ones of Hanoi Banh Mi 25 to be more tastier. The bread is the key ingredient followed by the sauces. The bread we got with our sandwiches was a bit less crispier and was not as nutty as the ones at Hanoi. This prep is local of Hanoi. Overall its good taste, Value for money for simple food which could be had any time of the day.

I'd eat here everyday if I could. I was a little dubious about trying the banh mi here as after a few disappointments in Hanoi about places that have been raved about, blogged about or are "famous" I wasn't sure. WOW you have to come here, have every single banh mi available and eat them like tapas and choose your favourite. They are all phenomenal we absolutely loved it. Considering its popularity with both tourists and locals, there is always a queue however, it's well staffed, staff are friendly and smiley and it's not extortionate pricing! A must do while you're in Hoi An.

A vegetarian/vegan nightmare. They used the same utensils and knife that they use for all the meat to add the avocado, salad and tofu to my sandwich whilst placing the bread on top of meat when they cut it. No gloves or sanitation and the sandwiches are massively overrated. It also took ages to get served even though I was one of the only people waiting, just ignored us for ages in a mashed up queue with no order. Go to Banh mi Phi... 10x better and the owner is lovely. We ordered 4 sandwiches here and they were all poor.

The queue was long, and when er finally reached the counter it was very stressful, so we ordered the mixed grill - and we soon regretted that. The chicken was try. The beef was fatty. The paté was awful. Mabye it was just a wrong choice but try the other Banh mis in Hoi An! They are much better.

Having tried banh mi at the beginning of our tour in Hanoi and been unimpressed ( didn’t eat the whole one as I didn’t really like it ) we went here as recommended by our guide. What a recommendation !! There was a queue 10 deep outside and we made our way in to the interior it was madly busy but we found somewhere to sit and as recommended we ordered the classic. Omg was it good !! The baker that makes the bread was located just next door and the filling was delicious and juicy. Our guide proceeded to tell us that he had arranged a tour to learn how to make the bread and prepare the fillings for the chef of Hop restaurant in London !! You absolutely cannot leave hoi an without eating here !!! Our lunch of 2 Bahn mi and 3 bottles of water cost 900,000 Dong about £3 !!

It was way too busy when my husband and I visited, a little overwhelming. This was early afternoon on a tuesday (3rd March), We decided to wait an hour or so and the queue had died down a bit and it was worth the return. We were served by cheerful waiters and didn't have to wait too long. The sandwiches had a lot of flavour, I understood the hype whilst I was munching happily. Happy with the first visit so visited again within our 4 day stay in Hoi An.

We went to this place literally every single day! Tried so many different versions of their Banh MI and every single one was outstanding. Within 2 weeks in Vietnam, this was the very best banh MI we have ever had. TIP: instead of queuing outside, walk by the queue and go straight into the restaurant. A waiter will then take your order, and you can eat it in the restaurant. The waiting time is much short that way

We ate here 2 years ago and it was still just as good. We had four people and everyone tried a different sandwich - All were yummy: Chicken and Cheese, Beef and Cheese, Pork, and Tofu. The line is almost always long, but that's for take-away. Wind past the line and go in and sit at a table (upstairs or downstairs) for eat-in service. Same great Bahn Mis without standing in line forever! We also found a car service advertised on the walls and tables and took advantage of their great service, too. We were staying and Da Nang, but ended up getting a car to Hoi An two days in a row. The service was great and cheaper than other options. The WhatsApp for the car service is: +84 935052250. They only need about 30 minutes have a car ready and waiting. All three times we used, the driver was early to arrive, polite, courteous and took us straight to our destination.

Doesn’t take you long to find this little Bahn mi shop in Hoi Ahn, it’s where there is a constant lineup from 7AM till 9:30PM. Got in line and waited for an “AB” sandwich, the first thing you notice is the light fresh baguette that happens to be baked next store all day. The fresh vegetables add a nice crunch to the pork and pate, and the tasty chili sauce complete the deal. had more than one on my stay. Tip: don’t wait in line, go right of the lineup and get a seat.

This is the second banh mi place we stopped by when we were in Hoi An. We went to Phi Banh Mi first and then to Phuong Banh Mi (Anthony Bourdain’s favorite). Because we didn’t know which one was better, we went to both --- and BOTH were GREAT! We bought two sandwiches (#3 and #5) and paid 60,000 VND ($2.60) – same cost as Phi Banh Mi. We put them inside our insulated bag with other sandwiches to take back to our cruise ship. (Since Hoi An is quite far away from the port, we only had a limited time here.) In comparing the two banh mi places, we liked the savory fillings in Phi Banh Mi but liked the baguette in Phuong Banh Mi (crispy crust outside and fluffy bread inside); though it was really hard to tell. I told my husband we need to go back to Hoi An and eat again – just to be fair. Both places are easy walking distance from the city’s historic district, but Phoung Banh Mi is closer. There was a line outside, but it moved fast.

All I can say is that this place has excellent Bahn mi. My friend and I went here each of the 3 days we were in Hoi An, and each day, we loved our dirt-cheap, filling, and delicious sandwiches. Also had the coconut lassi which was delicious. You can't ask for a better, cheaper, more filling, more delicious sandwich. We didn't find any we liked better anywhere else in Vietnam. Worthwhile if you're in Hoi An.

This place seriously has the best Banh Mi in Vietnam! There are two locations of this place, one is at the market (which we liked better) and the main location is in a small house where you can sit inside as well. The Banh Mi place at the market is extremely good! We ordered the tofu Banh Mi and they just asked around the market to get fresh tofu for us. Perfect place, amazing food!

We stopped here for lunch on the recommendation of our Guide. He was not wrong. We both ordered the mixed Banh Mi which were freshly made to order, and with cold beers they was an ideal lunch. The place is busy and bustling with life and definitely worth a visit for a slice of local life.

the banh mi lady at this place is so friendly, she let us park our scooter next to her shop for free since we wanted to eat her banh mi before heading down to the beach. over at the scooter stall they wanted us to pay overprize for parking the scooter so we said no. and then took a chance and asked her if we by chance could park outside her place instead. and guess what, she said yes! Sandwiches here are really great, get the one with fried egg in it if you can, but keep in mind its streetfood so it might not cooperate with just anyones stomach, we have both lived in asia before and are used to it. Thank you banh mi lady!
