Mango Rooms is an eclectic and beautiful restaurant located directly on the Thu Bon River in the heart of Hoi An Ancient Town. A great place for people watching, sitting back and relaxing with a cold glass of wine or a cocktail. Coined the cocktail mecca of Hoi An, you don't want to miss out on these signature creations. Located on one of the most popular pedestrian streets one up from the river, this is a lovely restaurant with fresh ingredients & imaginative flavours.
Even the complimentary small starter of a Mango curry was great. I then started with the fresh spring rolls with shrimp & mango served with peanut sauce.
My main was the special that night, a generous serve of duck breast with a chocolate & passion fruit sauce, watermelon pieces & sticky rice. All the flavours came together with a little spicy kick - absolutely delicious.
And dessert was chocolate & fruits in wonton skins fried with coconut butter. Amazing!
They have another fabulous restaurant on the other side of the river called “Mango Mango”. Food there is also great.

We had lunch here today and the food was absolutely delicious. It was so fresh. Spring rolls melted in your mouth and the fresh rocking rolls were amazing. The service was extremely friendly. We will definitely be going back!

This was our first evening in Vietnam after long traveling and we decided not to prebook any restaurant but just pick one which looks good... We happened to walk by accident by Mango rooms restaurant and remembered that this one our hotel recommended. We got nice table from outside by the river. It was fantastic to sit by the river and look at the river boats passing by with lanterns. We chose from set menu mango salads as starters and then white tuna and duck main courses. Both main courses were very tasty and well seasoned and in addition very different we have had before even if we use regularly both proteines. Only downside was a bit pricy wine list...

We had a terrific lunch at Mango Room in Hoi An. The Tuna Ceviche was outstanding, and the Exotic Dance (prawns wrapped in sliced beef) was delicious. A cozy atmosphere on the River and off the main street leading to the Japanese Bridge.

I have Hoi An as one of my favorite places to visit, I live in Hue, just 2.5 hours away. There is one place I never fail to visit, and that is the Mango Rooms. Lunch or dinner. A menu which is built on the Vietnamese tradition, but with so much more. All dishes have ingredients of the highest quality, the presentation is great and all dishes comes with an unique twist.
Add the wonderful staff, great location by the river, a colorful interior and ambience - and you are in my dream place.
Mango Rooms is owned by the same owner as Mango Mango, Mai Fish and 37 Woodier, which are built around the same food philosophy, but with different menues. Try them all, I can assure you that you will love it.

This restaurant is a couple of notches up from the average fare in Hoi An. One side faces the river with tables on the actual riverside, and the other side faces onto a walking street and includes 'the bubbles bar', an elegant champagne bar. The open kitchen immediately differentiates the Mango Rooms from most restaurants you'll find in the old part of Hoi An, and the overall decor is a stylish mix of indoor/outdoor.
What attracted us (me foodie, him professional chef) was the menu, which while notably Vietnamese, included ingredients like romesco, chimmichurri etc. It turns out that chef Duc has cooked all over the world and has brought these influences home to blend with the fresh local ingredients to create a delightful fusion menu.
We went for small plates in order to try the maximum number of dishes, and everything was a wonderfully balance of flavours and textures, beautifully presented. We will be back, but not before trying his other restaurants in town!
A special mention must be made for the service which was very attentive and professional. A real pleasure. Highly recommend.

We enjoyed all of our food, particularly the tuna ceviche, tuna salad and crostini with mango curry. Our waitress Nhi was very attentive too. Beautiful view from the outside dining area overlooking the river. Perfect meal. Thanks to all.

We visited when tourism was down during the virus scare and we were able to walk up and get a table overlooking the river.
We were given a cold cloth to start. The food was great, as was the service.
I read that there was nice music but we couldn't hear it over the loud music next door.

Service was impeccable and the food was out of this world! I went for the Buddha plate and typically vegetarian dishes are pretty bland but this was out of sight. Then even checked to make sure if I was vegan or just vegetarian (I’m neither 😂 but wanted some vegetables as can be quite carb heavy food in Vietnam).

I have been to Hoi An several times and always have dinner one night at Mango Mango across the river from the Japanese Bridge. We decided to try their other restaurant , Mango Rooms and were not disappointed. Any entree you pick is a winner. And the presentation sets this restaurant apart from the many other restaurants in Hoi An. Keep in mind the prices are higher but then you are getting top shelf quality of food and service. Enjoy your dinner!

Located on the river front in a quiet part of town we highly recommend this place for a meal. The menu is great with many modern takes on traditional Vietnamese dishes and the service was outstanding. Highly recommend

Chef/Owner Duc and his fabulous staff - Ngoc, Vang, Phuong and the others - offer a truly off the charts experience of innovative, imaginative, gastronomically first class, modern Vietnamese fusion cuisine, fabulous, friendly, efficient service, and a beautiful venue alongside the river in Hoi An with fantastic night views. Duc's amazing Red Snapper special, with mini tortillas to hold the fish, herbs, pickled onions and more, may be the most delicious, imaginative, inspiring culinary creation we have ever enjoyed, and we have experienced many, in countries all over the world. Best of all, after our fantastic dinner, Duc came out and took the time to share extraordinary stories and experiences with us for over an hour, invited us back the next morning to watch him prepare the Red Snapper special and a delectable mango ceviche, and Duc and his wonderful wife Ly have become lifetime friends. Would love to bring Duc and Ly and their family to Hawai'i and connect Duc with some of Hawai'i's truly world class chefs - Alan Wong, Vikram Garg, Roy Yamaguchi, Chris Kajioka, and others. It would be the culinary art equivalent of assembling the best of the Miles Davis and Wayne Shorter jazz groups. In our many decades of culinary experience, I would say that it truly may not get any better than this, except that Duc is young and passionate and creative enough that there is no question that he will keep raising the bar. You owe yourself and your favorite gourmands this experience.

A MUST visit in Hoi An!! Chef Duc has used his master chef abilities to create dishes that explode with flavors and textures. The Cervich and the Carspaccio were each light and delicious, each with their own personality and vibrant pleasures to our taste buds!! The Duck was smoked to perfection and paired with the pancakes and veggies to produce a masterpiece. Our server, Q, was so helpful and knowledgeable about the food and helped guide us to dishes she knew we would love!! Chef Duc stopped by and his passion, creativity, and drive to create not only exquisite cuisine, but memory making experiences was a highlight for us! Of course, tucked away from the bustle of the night market, sitting on the river bank with a cool breeze and moonlight, added to the ambiance!! This is easily a Michelin star restaurant, undiscovered as of yet!!

We booked the restaurant long in advanced. If we go on holiday we try to find the best local restaurants in the area and visit them. Based on what I have read the expectations were high. With regards to the food: it was ok but overpriced compared to other restaurants we visited during our three weeks Vietnam and Cambodia trip. Service was not ok. Staff seemed to be more interested in their mobile phone then in serving customers.

Just had drinks here. When we looked at the food we realised it was way overpriced for the city. Staff and location were nice but we didn’t feel it offered good value so went elsewhere. A large water was 120 VND when it we have never seen it above 40 elsewhere

We appreciate your feedback here at Mango Rooms. We are very saddened by your review. We never receive reviews such as this. We at Mango Rooms pride ourselves on offering a beautiful ambience, very different from any other restaurant located in Hoi An. With a direct riverside location, a tropical themed setting and food and drinks that are unparalleled, we feel justified in the prices that our restaurant charges. The water that we have: Aquapanna & S. Pellegrino are both from Italy and carry the price tag 120,000 VND. Our local brand Vikoda which you will find in other places is also 40,000 VND. We are sorry that you didn't expect to see such prices but this town is globalizing quite quickly and other restaurants are charging more than we are at the moment. Thanks again for your review and we wish you all of the best on your remaining travels.
