Great lunch of a rack of lamb, a really nice Malbec, a wonderful view and really efficient staff. Had a fun time with the waitress ordering as we didn't have a common language. An extensive menu leaves opportunities for a further visit which we will certainly do.

For our last night in Uruguay we chose a typical Uruguayan restaurant and were not disappointed. An extensive menu and an attentive waiter helped us to chose our meal and the wine that should accompany. A good sign was that the restaurant was popular. The food was excellent and with a view overlooking the River Plato it is a good... More

My wife and I shared only a mixed salad with mozzarella, hearts of palm, and olives. It was delicious. We also ordered a glass of white wine each -- Familia Lahusen, Gewürztraminer 2015. The pours were very generous -- more than satisfying. Tasting the wine was another adventure because we did not expect this grape given the usual chardonnay and... More

I've read all the reviews here, and it's so easy to criticise somewhere which may not be to YOUR standards. What are your standards when eating abroad? This place has character, it's in a tourist zone, it caters for tourists, it's doesn't need bad reports to survive, it is of the closest waterfront restaurants with the a sunset. I travel... More

There are numerous restaurants in colonial's old town. Santa Rita is a good one at a nice location. Food is good and reasonably priced. From the garden you overlook rio de la plata (and the tourists passing by...). A nice way to spend lunch time.

Avoid going here, service is not attentive and food is really ridiculously overpriced. Meal wasn't even done, half raw.

We stopped there because of the great location facing the rio plata and the terrace was clean. We ordered one starter for sharing (chef's special : pulpo!) and two beef steaks. We took a beer and a bottle of wine. A dessert of "apple pancake" which ended up being a crepe! It was very good. The wine "tannat" is from... More

we ordered steak and paella. the steak was dry and charred, like it had been cooked 3 days before and then put in the fridge and reheated. the paella was like someone got pasta sauce and heated up with some rice and seafood. we weren´t the only ones who had complaints...the brazilian couple next to us ordered a medium rare... We were on a trip from Buernos Aries and didn't have long here. We walked through the streets and into Santa Rita. The waiter was friendly and gave us a menu, but when we ordered draft beer he said they didn't stock it. We ordered the special on the board which was fish piealla and it took ages. I know... More

We came in for lunch, we ordered wine which took 30 minutes , the servers were chatting all the time they didn't care about the patrons, after dinner I went to the bathroom and what a surprise I was in for, the bathroom was one of the dirtiest I have ever seen, so please check the bathrooms whenever you go...
