The food wasn't incredebly good but it was worth going there for the nice atmosphere, the very friendly waiter and good Mate. We stayed there for almost three hours.

I didn't realice with my couple to check trip advisor before going for lunch. Of corse people learn with this kind of experiences. 330 UYU menu for a "Chivito", cup of wine and dessert... The chivito was just a sandwich... the cup of "tannat" was a very very small cup of cheap red wine and the dessert was a old... More

The place is cozy but the food is horrible. There is a "cheap" menu with chivito or pasta + wine + desert. The chivito was just a pork steak with lettuce (which means it wasn't a chivito at all). We changed the wine for "lemonade" which was just tap water with squeezed lemon. The dessert was a "dulce de leche"... More

We were excited about the cute garden but then the food was a huge fail!!! My husband's chivito came out and the chicken on the sandwich was like shoe leather. It was bland and tasteless. I was glad that I had ordered the pasta. My husband was done eating by the time my pasta came. It was undercooked spaghetti noodles... More

More

We went to Il Piu to have breakfast, as it looked like a really nice place. The waitress was friendly and as we felt a bit tired we just went with her recommendation for breakfast: coffee and crêpe with dulce de leche. The coffee was tasteless and the crêpe was not made freshly - it was just from a package!... More

Avoid the large tourist trap restaurants - instead, look for this super cute cafe where you can enjoy a wonderfully cooked meal surrounded by the best of Colonia's natural ambiance. They have a lunch special that includes a glass of wine and dessert.

We had a simple meal of wine and cheese, both of which were local, and both of which were excellent. The environment was lovely, looking out on to a beautiful cobbled street (and a 1947 car). We were offered their own limoncello to try after the meal which was also really good. Very friendly helpful owner.
