Dinner in Göreme with a nice terrasse

We had dinner at Keyif restaurant with our family. The terrace has a nice view over downtown. Dishes were good but too expensive. The waiter especially pushed us to choose a more expensive meal then the one we had chosen so the bill would more expensive. Not a nice experience Good but pricey ; careful with pushy waiters :)

Twice in a trip!!!

A night in Goreme wouldn’t be perfect without it’s fabulous foods and fancy restaurant. And on our first night we chance upon Keyif, a very cosy and well priced restaurant that serves grills and traditional Turkish foods.. but of course place and foods wouldn’t be as enjoyable without the perfect service rendered by their staff. And we were lucky enough to be waited by Mr. Remzi, a well mannered staff, very articulate and with great sense of humor, he didn’t leave us unattended and follows up on our needs and orders. So, we decided to comeback on our third night, to enjoy the good food and great service we experienced. Well, see you again keyif, and keep doing a good job on serving your tourist with great food and excellent service staff.

Comida excelente en Göreme

After trying tree or four different places around, including the food given at the tours we can say this place has the best food in Göreme for foreigners. A great place to enjoy local food with an unbeatable taste, a great view and an incredible service that you won't get everywhere. Chief Remzi made an awesome diner for a casual night. 1000% suitable. You have to come. Después de probar tres o cuatro lugares incluyendo la comida ofrecida en los tours, puedo decir que este lugar tiene la mejor comida de Göreme para extranjeros. Un excelente lugar para disfrutar comida típica con un sabor inmejorable, una vista increíble y una atención que no te brindan en cualquier lugar Chief Remzi hizo de una noche casual una noche espectacular con sus atenciones y excelente servicio, 1000% recomendable. Tienes que venir.

We were lied to and basically got scammed.

We visited for some shisha, wine and other drinks as a group. All was well. We were enjoying the view and the shisha. We ordered a bottle of Merlot, to be told it wasn’t available - fine. We are then offered malbec as an option, which we were told was a similar alternative. We then found out upon receiving the bill that the wine they gave us was the most expensive red wine on the menu and triple the price of our initial order. This then proceeds to become an elongated argument about us getting scammed and them saying we knew what we ordered which we definitely did not. They also then admit to the fact that they actually had the wine available that we initially ordered, meaning they also outright lied to us. We didn't manage to get the price removed in the end and got a small reduction instead. By the time we finished arguing with them it was already 1am and we were sick of going in circles.

Myself and my partner were attracted to the look of the restaurant based on reviews . Upon arrival we where handed a picture menu of the food which we felt was not to our taste nor price. We then continued with 2 cocktails which where very sweet and undressed and tasted like it was out of a carton. Upon the bill we where charged service charge for 2 drinks which we felt was not right as we did not order food and did not check on us to see if ever was ok. Worst Pina colada ever, overpriced sh!t Great views but not got a great vibe.

Hospitality at the best

Awesome lounge. We reached Goreme early morning and they happily invited us to their restaurant to freshen up and then offered us the delicious breakfast. They asked us to relax and settle down for another couple of hours until our check in at the hotel. Must try their standard breakfast prepared by this couples- Zeliha and Hakkl ❤️

Bad food

Very bad service and penne with seafood was horrible as there was only pasta without seafood. We have asked manager to change the plate or to add some seafood, he started to rummage in my plate and show me 5 little pieces of seafood, but I am not really sure that this rubbish can be called - seafood. Please find the photos attached. Finally he agreed that there wasn’t any seafood and bring the additional little plate with seafood but it was fully in vinegar and impossible to eat. Vinegar seafood , no seafood in original plate and don’t want to help to solve this problem !! Very disappointed

Don’t order pasta!

Brought seafood pasta with the unpleasant smell of vinegar. We suspect that the seafood was marinated. Our discontent was answered we are wrong and seafood was cooked with “something on Turkish”. Didn’t change the paste. Didn’t offer anything. Disappointed by this place.

Horrible from start to finish

I went with my wife there for lunch. We ordered appetizers and main dishes. The service was bad. We had to ask for everything twice. Our humus came without bread. After we asked for bread the waiter brang us pita bread out of the plastic bag, means rear pita what never has been in the oven. Our vegetable soup was a kind of colored water without any taste. The chicken in our main dishes was fat and full of nerves and was not proper cooked (the meat was rose).Only the fries were eatable! Our complaints to the waiter and manager were for nothing. They didnt care about our opinion and complaints. The bill was 800 TRY for all this unsatisfied lunch/service. Btw. my wife and me traveling alot and we are experienced in having food in restaurants and sleeping in hotels. Usually we don’t share our experiences on the web, but in this case it was a must. Our 13 year old son cooks better.

A tasty meal at a reasonable price...

While on vacation recently in Göreme, my husband and I chose this restaurant as one of the places to have dinner. What a great decision that was... The staff were professional, attentive, friendly and courteous. We sat at a table overlooking the street and we were offered a blanket, for the cold (but we did think it was cold - we're used to the Irish weather). For starters we ordered the 'Red Pepper Dip' and the 'Cheese Stuffed Mushrooms'. For main course we ordered the 'Chicken Stew' and the 'Lamb Fillet'. All the food was served in a reasonable time and was absolutely delicious. Although quiet at the time we visited, the atmosphere was good. The only downside was that the mains were delivered while we were still eating the starters, so by the time we got to them, they had cooled slightly, but that wasn't a major problem....it.was all very flavourful and tasty and was happily devoured by is both. After our visit we realised that we were accidentally overcharged (extra digit added onto Card Machine total, obviously by mistake - which we didn't notice at the time) and when I contacted the restaurant, they were extremely helpful, co-operative and quick in resolving the issue. If you are lucky enough to be visiting Göreme, and you want a good meal for a reasonable price, do your pocket and your taste buds a favour and go see the staff at the Keyif ......you won't be disappointed!

Very underwhelming.

The place is nice and the terrace is great. Location is good. The service was not so great. We ordered a steak, it was 2 pieces of very thin minute steaks. We asked for it medium, it was obviously cooked well done and dry because the cut was so thin. There were some what looked liked frozen veggies that has been steamed on the plate. We got steaks with no steak knives, we had to ask for that. After eating, we had to ask the waiter to clear that table as he was too busy in a conversation with another employee. The waiter then responded with a “okay, why not?!” Then proceeded to clear the table. Service was below average. Very bad actually. Food was below average too. Did not enjoy.

Great food and service!

The location is lovely and so is the interior, but the food and the service are the best thing here. I was served by Aramis and she was just super nice and helpful , always attentive and ready to offer some recommendations. I ordered lentil soup and lamb shank and they brought some hummus as well. Everything was delicious and very well presented. I highly recommend it and I’d definitely come back. The price was very good for the quality and what I ordered.

Super Dope!

A casual local gem! They've been around for a reason. If you are around, I am telling you it is a must! you must visit here with an empty stomach! The food is soo good. I wanted to try everything. My per suggestion would be Testi Kabab or their house special which is called with the name of the restaurant 'Keyif' Kabab. Also their wine selection is pretty good. Would definitely recommend!!

Strange service experience

The food is just good, watch out while ordering. If you order everything at once, all dishes come at the same time. So no time between first course and main course. Very strange service experience. Gast hosts look like body guards with ears and you feel watched by them all the time, asking every few minutes if you are ready. As soon as you finished all plates are taken. Diner experience is over within an hour. Not very pleasant. I can not advise eating here unless you are in a very big hurry.

We are trying our best to make our guests comfortable, so sorry if they bothered you with asking to much about your needs. We will be carefull about it anymore🙏 Thank you for letting us know. Good, but there are some issues

The food is fresh en tasty. Prices are a little bit higher. The service looks professional, but it laks organisation. They serve pretty good wines, but this white wine was not chilled enough. Due to a mistake we got a wrong order, rice in stead of fries. So we ask for the fries, but both came on the bill afterwards. Didn’t feel right to us.
