We came here as our guidebook said that the food here was great and it was true. It was quite busy even on a Sunday night at 20:00 but we found parking in the lot in front across the street from the restaurant. The four of us (2 thaïs and 2 farangs) tried a variety of dishes and all agreed that the preparation and taste were top notch. They have an extensive menu and delicious deserts so all we will say is “try it out and see for yourself”. You will not be disappointed. Enjoy!

Somehow on all my visits to Udon Thani, I've never found this restaurant. From now on, I will be coming to this restaurant every day. Absolutely amazing menu. Every dish was delicious. I can't wait to come back and try the many other things that looks so good. Also very good and conscientious service.

Tasty food in a nice air conditioned setting. Clean and hygienic preparation as well, my fellow Westerners with unaccustomed stomachs, no worries here! Be sure to try their desserts, too.

Been visiting this vintage restaurant for 14 years, usually for special occasions, but not in the last 3 years. We went yesterday, really looking forward to a good meal but didn’t get one. The phad Thai was tasteless and the other dishes we ordered were not as good as the food they sell at the regular market for 35 baht. The service was on par with the food court at Big C, that is, all of the empty plates stay on the table through the dessert course until after you leave. It’s disappointing because it used to be well run with tasty food. It would be sad to have all of the good restaurants in Central Plaza.

Been coming to Maeya for over 20 years, I live just 10 minutes away. It used to be the best and most reliable restaurant in Udonthani, but unfortunately seems to have gone downhill recently. Yesterday's visit was simply a joke. We asked the waiter what was "khow phat Maeya (Fried rice Maeya) in the menu. He told us "fried rice with pieces of hot dog, with Isaan spicy & sour sausage (hnam sausage), plus prawns and a fried egg on top (khai Dow)". So, This is what we ordered but told them to leave out the spicy & sour Isaan sausage. When the dish arrived, it looked nothing like what we had been described so asked the waitress what this was? - she replied that "she didn't know!" First we noticed there was no khai dow (Fried egg) on the top so we mentioned it to a waitress, whereupon our food was taken away (without a word) and brought back 2-3 minutes later with a fried egg on the top and the plate was simply thrown onto the table, and not a word spoken. The fried rice contained 3 small pieces of hot dog sausage(about 1cm long) and some "moo-yoork" (sliced pork meat). Not a sign of any prawns as we had been told there would be and the actual rice used to make the dish was soaking wet. You simply cannot make fried rice with wet rice. It was hard to believe that one of the best restaurants in Udon couldn't make one of the most popular and simple dishes in Thailand (Fried rice/Khow Phat). The special Khow Pat Maeya appeared to be a signature dish and was the most expensive fried rice dish on the menu - more expensive than prawn or crab fried rice - despite having neither in this 'special Maeya dish'. As other customers have pointed out - the place looks tired now and in need of a makeover, particularly on the tiled floor which is cracked and broken in places. Unfortunately this Udon restaurant no longer holds the top spot in my heart any more. When we left the restaurant and went home - after about 30 minutes I had really painful stomach aches and, as I hadn't eaten anything else at all - all day - apart from the food at this restaurant 30 minutes ago, it was hard not to blame that food for the stomach ache. Perhaps it's time to look for another favorite restaurant?

Apparently one of the long running restaurants in Udon Thani they serve basically Thai and Chinese food. The indoor layout is open and clean with floors on three levels which makes it airy. Makes for an interesting seating arrangement. Staff is fine and the food we ordered were all excellent.

We visited this restaurant first week of february 2019. The interior of the restaurant looks really outdated and not really clean. We ordered spring rolls, paneang beef, green curry chicken and basil stir fried chicken. The basil stir fried chicken was a 7 out of 10, but all other 3 orders were way below average. The green curry at the breakfast at our hotel was way better for instance. Will not be back here as it seems this was not just a hit and miss. Service was uninterested, rude and not any smile. This is the land of Smile right. Well not at Maeya.

Super delicious food at this well furnished restaurant! There's a huge variety of Thai food at the restaurant. Highly recommend the tom yam soup, seafood curry in coconut, shrimp cake. Every dish was superbly executed. The cheeseburger was a surprise winner! Never expected to taste a juicy well-grilled cheeseburger in Udon Thani 😋 If you're in Udon, you have to enjoy a meal at Maeya 👍🏻 Quick tip: The owners can speak english if you're worried about having to order in Thai.

I just can’t understand how this restaurant is so highly rated, the food is dreadful the service not much better, it’s expensive and the place needs a good overhaul. The food here is a type of Chinese / Thai mix, which isn’t a good thing because the quality of the dishes of both types suffer as a result. Every time I come here I promise myself it will be the last time then for whatever reason I give it another go in the vain hope things have improved, they haven’t and they won’t. Definitely avoid the fried fish, it’s delivered over fried and dry. Waitresses that actually care about their job would help too.

We visited this restaurant for lunch. Staff were welcoming and we were given a table on the ground floor... Note, this restaurant has three tiers! The decor looks good, interesting to say the least as it doesn't follow traditional themes of Thai architecture. Seating was ok, although the 'bench' style sofa seats weren't the most practical for eating. The menu's gave so much choice! Too much if I am honest... but the food we ordered and received was very good. The food arrived surprisingly quickly and was hot... The dishes were small but the overall dining experience was very good and despite the small size of portions we did leave completely satisfied. The final bill was also surprisingly low... very good value in my opinion, given the comfort, ambience and quality of food and service. Only one caveat however; take a jacket... it was quite chilly due to the air conditioning! A good experience. We will visit again...

I ordered a simple curry dish and water. I was brought coke instead. Told them I ordered water and they took the coke away and brought water. Had the dish, which tasted okay. The bill came, 220 baht! And coke was on the bill too. Avoid!
