Visited with friends once and got take away once. Fab pizza, good atmosphere, nice staff, prices reasonable for a tourist spot. Definitely recommend!

We took our guides and a couple of porters to Pepe's post Kili climb and the food really hit the spot. Excellent wood fire pizzas and Indian cuisine (unusual combination but good nonetheless). Nice large outdoor and indoor seating areas. Only downside was paying with USD after the meal (they only accepted bills dated later than 2006) due to the... More

Pepe's has an outdoor dining area with steel chairs and tables, or an "indoor" open air type dining area with wooden ones. The restaurant is pretty large, probably a tour group stop. The food is Italian, Seafood and Pizza mostly, and prices range from $5.00 for a pizza to $15.00 for a mixed seafood platter. The pizza is made in... More

We went to Pepe's for our post Kili celebration and had a great time. The food was GREAT (and we had great food on the mountain so our quality meter was still working). The pizza was spectacular, and the caprese salad was good. We had a group of 12 and they didnt seem to have any issues. The service was... More

I was reading the reviews on Pepe's and had to chuckle, so here is my input for all those who are going to Africa to help others, or to experience life in Africa. Gosh, what do you expect honestly? A 5-star US hotel? In the middle of Tanzania, one of the poorer countries in Africa? Let's get real. I absolutely... More

I went to the restaurant for an evening meal. We ate our Pizzas (not great but fine), paid the bill and after talking for a few minutes we realised that all staff had disappeared fo the night. There was nobody to call a Taxi (and the restaurant is not close to the centre). We were totally abandoned. The night porter... More

Pleasant enough atmosphere, with acrobats. Service- our waiter was the manager- was cool at best. Uncrowded. Tough steak, 'prawns' were popcorn shrimp, flavorless tomatoes, etc. Decent naan.

I would recommend this restraunt / hotel after the manager (Peter) is counseled. He takes the tips belonging to the wait staff. They are afraid to approach the owner because the owner thinks this is ok. Please avoid the Pepe until Peter returns the money he takes from the wait staff. Ohh....and by the way...I ordered a pizza and there... More

After 2 weeks in Tanzania, our group was craving American food. We went to Pepe's. The pizzas are sold as individual size for about $7. They are large enough to split. It wasn't the best pizza I have ever had, but very good, and satisfied our cravings! The ravioli was also good. The atmosphere was very nice, open air.
