We had dinner twice at Salt Lick. The quality of the food is very good, the staff is friendly and speaks good English. Make sure to book a table in advance as there are not many seats available.

Salt Lick wasn't in our itinerary, but we had lunch there after strolling around the downtown area. The daily special and the weekly special were of good value. The burgers were made to order. The fries and salad were quite good too. Worth a try!

The food is really over rated. We had high expectations after reading the reviews. Let me put it this way, the only tasty food is the French Fries. The burger bun and sausage bun were served cold and hard

Western style menu, friendly and effective service. No-nonsense place ideally for a decent quick bite to eat.

Was in Hualien on 3 Dec and managed to reserve a table for 5pm in advance via phone. First, we reached the restaurant at 440pm and were a bit early as the place opens at 5pm. We were at the entrance running through the menu for 10 minutes. The owners were zipping in and out several times. The Chinese waitress... More

Although I should enjoy the local food while traveling... I just had enough of the five spice chicken and dumplings and was really craving some good western food. This place didn't disappoint. In fact, it really impressed me. We ordered the pulled pork sandwich and the brisket salad. The meat was so juicy and flavorful I thought I was in... More

I love the pulled pork burger, it's flavorful and the pork is tender and the bun is fresh. They also have weekday lunch special, even the side dish french fries are tasty too!

They made me feel welcome despite the fact I was wet through and covered the place in dripping belongings. Hot chocolate was good, geologically inspired cheesecake amazing!

Very nice place if you want a change from Asian food. After some days traveling, our son requested western food. We found this place with good burgers and excellent ribs. Amazing choice of beers as well

Large menu similar to a Friday's, but cheaper and probably better tasting. Has both indoor and outdoor seating.
