A nice diner, newly renovated. Food is like homemade home style. There is a large menu selection. Breakfast, lunch and dinner selections. Burgers, salads, sandwiches and much more.

WoW! a Rueben sandwich to die for. Many years have gone by since I had a great sandwich like this. Going have to travel back. Oh hubby enjoyed his Cheeseburger too. Great plate with pickles too. Waitress great.
Stopped early for breakfast and sat at the counter. The waitress was prompt to serve a coffee while we were looking at the menu. The colonial breakfast is huge but still very tasty. Only little annoyance is when the waitress talks loudly with a customer on the other side of the counter in Greek and we could barely talk with... More
We take many bus tours and they always stop at chinese buffet which is right across from Colonie and we got tired of going to the buffets so this is the second time we have gone to Colonie .We enjoy coming here for the food and service.
there were four ou for breakfast at 8am.my son had a breakfast burreto, his friend had irish eggs benedict and my hushand and i had a large breafast of eggs, sausage, hamandbacon with french toast.all breakfasts were good and the coffee was hot and fresh.waitstaff was friendly and efficent.
Thus is a solid diner, as far as diners go. Certainly worth a visit. Service was fast, food came out quickly and was not overly greasy or gross. My only complaint would be that they really pack people in here. If I had to grab lunch I'd drop by knowing I could get a good sandwich and fast service.
Let's admit it: breakfast is comfort food. At the Colonie Diner that comfort is offered all day including eggs over easy at 4:00 in the afternoon and the classic bottomless cup of coffee. Their selection of eggs benedicts styles are prodigious (the Irish Benedict with sausage gravy sounds delish... maybe next time).
I could only manage half of the sizeable pastrami reuben I ordered, and the potato salad side was perfect. My wife's burger was perfection as well. No better word to describe the coffee ~ perfect! We indulged in a slice of chocolate layer cake which was, er, perfect. Service was fast and attentive. Décor isn't as glitzy as some other... More
This might be my new favorite place for breakfast/brunch which is one of my favorite meals to eat out for. The coffee was delicious, the eggs were cooked perfectly, the potatoes are AWESOME and the link sausage is very tasty. My only complaint, which isn't the restaurant's fault, was a family of 5 with a small baby that was pretty... More
