We love Greek food and when we travel we go looking for it. If the restaurant serves grilled octopus, then chances are we'll be eating there. We went to Athos for the grilled octopus appetizer, which was really good, and also loved the roasted lamb....More

I have eaten here dozens of times over the past several years. Both the food and service are consistently very good. I could make a meal of their kolokithakia (zucchini chips with salt & vinegar).

I was in Albany for business and dined alone at Athos. The location was convenient to my hotel near the University and parking was easy in a lot. This is a nice place, but it's casual enough where you don't need to worry too much...More

This restaurant was recommended to me by my doctor whose children attend schools in the Albany area. He was spot on! Our food was delicious. We started with Saganaki and a Feta Chees Plate. We both had the Macedonian Lamb as an entrée. Also had...More

Wow! We had a private room reserved for nine. We enjoyed great and ample servings of salad, appetizers -- including stuffed grape leaves -- yum! The staff were very attentive with our drinks. We enjoyed warm bread, too, and dinner served with style -- including...More

You know it is authentic when the Saganaki is good! For our first time, everything went fined ; the grilled octopus, the lollipop lamb chop, the greek salad and the baklava, all well executed. Even the wine, which I previously look down on greek wine,...More

I've always enjoyed this restaurant until my last visit. We asked for the sample platter and the waitress pointed out that it would cost 8 dollars person. It was three of us. When the platter was served the platter was so skimpy that it could...More

I had high expectations since this is listed as # 1 in Albany. I wasn't totally impressed. Although I definitely will try again! Next time I'll bring my wife! I had the octopus which was ok. I also had a meat dish that was ok....More

How are the cocktails here? I usually like sweeter cocktails, fruity, flavorful. I don't like feeling like I'm drinking straight out of a bottle lol. Do you know if they are open to making cocktails not on their menu? Thanks!
