I enjoyed a wonderful lunch here after touring the Distillery. The shrimp cream soup appetizer was delicate and delicious. So glad I got the curry dish! Service was also very good. And the setting! I sat on the back patio, facing the lovely garden.

We just had coffee and some cocktails late afternoon. Nothing to write about them - decent, but the place is gorgeous and has that old colonial feel. The garden is beautiful. Shame we couldn't have dinner there.

We read that it was somewhere worth visiting... but it was so much more. Away from the hustle of the scorching sun, sand and hot beaches, this restaurant provided sanctuary. We decided to book lunch for my husbands 40th and we got bliss. Great food...(the mini tacos are amazing and the grilled prawns!) and fabulous drinks, the views of the plantation just make it so peaceful. And the resident cat is a cutie too!More

We visited in November, we had drinks in the pretty garden and ordered dinner later in the evening. We were very disappointed to find Flying Fox fruit bat on the menu, we encourage all nature and animal lovers that are visiting seychelles for its unique,...natural beauty and wildlife not to support this establishment as these animals are killed in an inhumane way and they are supposed to be protected... my daughter was very upset she absolutely loves these creatures and it really hurt her to see this is she is only 10 years old... the killing of the fruit bats is not a sustainable practice.More

We stopped to see the distillery one lunchtime and decided to have a (very) light lunch. It was just idyllic sitting on the verandah of this former Colonial house, looking out onto gardens and foliage, listening to a myriad of birdsongs. We chose the mini...tortillas of raw tuna and jobfish, perfectly seasoned with herbs from the garden, and served on a bamboo pole - fabulous food presentation. A glass of Chardonnay-Viognier completed a perfect lunch. The staff were lovely, even telling me where to buy the wine glasses I commented on. (ISPC wholesalers in Victoria is another story, as will be getting 12 wine glasses home safely to the UK!) Don’t miss eating here, or simply having a drink, before walking around the grounds. It’s a gem of a place and we loved it!More

This was an exceptional dining experience. We were in a larger party but our food, service or quality of drinks didn’t suffer. La Plaine had a lovely family feel to it with the staff all working together brilliantly to create an overall amazing experience. Our...dinner was so good we went back for lunch the next day. A must visit when in the SeychellesMore

This restaurant is adjacent to the Takamaka Rum Distillery, it's absolutely the best restaurant south of Mahè and one of the best 3 of the Island. The amazing colonial style location, offers dehor and inside room, the garden around the building is well kept and...bring you back at the colonial age. The cuisine is excellent, mixing the Creole heritage with the best restaurant style, unforgettable the Bouillabesse. Unmissable a cocktail before dining, with a selection of delicious recipes with the house made Takamaka Rum. Reservation is required, due to the high demand and few room.More

The service was excellent and the setting is lovely, in a garden behind the rum distillery. I would say the food needs a little work, as we probably had nicer meals at other, cheaper, local restaurants, but the setting itself makes it worth the trip.
