The food here is amazing and the cafe is really pretty - it goes back ages, with lots of little areas to sit in the garden. We also did the cooking class, which was really fun and we learnt a lot.

My wife who is an author of cook books attended the cooking class and was impressed with the cooking class here. Apparently she was able to request for certain items and the participating class was easy to follow along. At the end of the class I was invited to join the dry small group for dinner and was surprised how... More

Located strategically at the monkey forest road. We ordered crispy duck, tom yam soup and chicken satay. All are delicious. The crispy duck are soft, tender and with the crunchy skins. Price are reasonable...

After being stuck in heavy traffic on the way back to our hotel, we decided to just hop out and enjoy the area. We stopped in here as my friends were looking for some bakery options. We were really impressed by the interior, as the gardens and tatami style seating is really quite inviting. I tried the mie goreng and... More

The food was good but nothing special. The prices are rather expensive in comparison with similar food in other Ubud restaurants. The atmosphere is very authentic.

We had an overall good meal here - the baked Aubergine tofu dish was absolutely amazing! But very small if you were planning that for your main. We shared the Crispy duck but it was a huge disappointment - it was so crispy that all the meat and skin had been singed off and it was just dry. Bit of... More

Awesome little spot to grab some dinner. Grab a table on the ground with some plush pillows. Very outdoor spot with little water features and plants. Dark, cozy and cool. We spent a few hours here just eating and drinking the night away. Kid friendly too. Our 5 month old literally slept on a big plush pillow while we hung... More

Talking about UBUD, you will expect to have a lunch/dinner with a natural ambience. Café Wayan definitely has it! We had dinner surrounded by nature ambience which is so relaxing. This restaurant also well located in Monkey Forest area and easy to find. We tried their famous Nasi Campur Bali (with Chicken) which is so gooooodddd and their Saturday special... More

Every warung sells Nasi Campur and Nasi Goreng but to taste deliciously prepared only at Warung Wayan. To savour a wide variety of Balinese food, do go for the Sunday dinner buffet....the sate lilit ayam is grilled on the spot, the simple tempe was very well prepared, the gado gado peanut sauce is smooth and well blended...and many more delicious... Cafe Wayan is centrally located on Monkey Forest road. The setting is gorgeous - lovely gardens. Food is very good although some meals in our group of eight did not quite hit the mark. Still a nice place to eat.

Description
Cafe Wayan and Bakery Established in 1986 We are happy to have had so many nice guests come to enjoy our food for over 30 years. Cafe Wayan started as a small warung (a local food stall) where Ibu Wayan sold black rice pudding and coffee to the rice farmers on what has now become Monkey Forest Road. Tourist began walking down "the path" to the Monkey Forest and stopped by for a coffee, snacks or to buy peanuts for the monkeys. Ibu Wayans always love to cook as a child and soon the menu began to expand. Return friends to Ubud began helping with recipes of western dishes as long term visitors and residents sometimes miss their own food too. Ibu Wayan began traveling abroad and learned more western cooking with Chef Joe Schultz of India Joes's restaurant in Santa Cruz, California and also learned the art of Thai cuisine in Bangkok.
