Lotus Café in Ubud is a real gem, a fabulous location that enchants from the first glance. Located in a prime location, with a quiet pond stretching out in front of the venue and stunning views of the Pura Taman Saraswati temple, it is the perfect place to relax and enjoy a unique atmosphere.
The staff is extremely courteous and welcoming. Although I was alone, they made me sit at a front-line table, offering me an extraordinary view that made the experience even more special. The kindness of the staff is unforgettable, and among the elegant ladies, I fondly remember Dek Sri, with his sweet smile that made the service even more pleasant.
Cocktails are great! I could not resist and I did the encore of their Dark Lotus, a drink that stands out for its intensity and originality. Even the food is no exception: attention to detail, tasty and authentic. I had the pleasure of trying the bebek betutu, a steamed duck with a rich and delicious flavor, a real gastronomic experience. And dessert? Just superlative! The jajan pisang, with bananas, coconut and ice cream, ended the meal in the best way.

I had the most wonderful experience dining at Cafe Lotus in Ubud! The moment you step into the restaurant, you are greeted by the serene and breathtaking view of the lotus pond and the stunning Saraswati Temple. The food was an absolute delight! I enjoyed traditional Balinese dishes, which were fresh and bursting with flavor. The Nasi Campur was particularly exquisite, offering a perfect balance of textures and tastes. The portion sizes were generous, and every bite felt like a treat. The place is very nice, and if you go at night you can see a Balinese dance with one of Top-rated backgrounds you can find on Ubud. The food is a bit expensive for the prices that usually exist in Indonesia, but the atmosphere and staff make up for it. We were attended by Gushi, and it was a real pleasure that he answered all the questions we had regarding the island and told us more about its traditions and culture. The best waiter in the place:)

Would not recommend. My friend & I ordered satay chicken, and both of the meals came out completely raw (pink). When we told the waiter, he did not seem surprised as if this was a regular occurrence. We then had to wait another 40 mins for them to re-cook the meal for it to come out completely over cooked that it was inedible. My friend also ordered the seafood nasi gorgeng and it was completely flavourless with no sauce. You pay more compared to other restaurants nearby, purely for the view, but it is not worth it at all. Avoid at all costs.

Beautiful place, must visit! Despite the fact that its very popular among tourists fortunately they offer great menu with reasonable prices. Had avocado toast and it was very fresh, also the sauce on the salad was amazing, well balanced dish. CC payment is only above 250 and breakfast is around 130-150k, so prepare cash with you.
Wijana was the waiter at my table and he was speaking brilliant English and took care of me, never left my cup empty.

There was a minor snafu up on our arrival as they were unable to find our online booking but it was resolved within a few minutes.
The location of the restaurant is the main selling point with an open plan layout and great views of the adjoining water garden and temple, offering a great atmosphere especially as the sun sets and the lights come on outside.
The menu offered a variety of traditional Balinese dishes as well as specialty 'Royalty' sharing platters and a wide selection of cocktails which we enjoyed.
Our server Wijana was very friendly and attentive and was happy to explain how the sharing platters worked.

The place is very nice and the food is very good. The price is slightly higher than the other locals in the area. Wijana has taken care of us very well, has been very friendly and attentive. The place is nice in a peaceful atmosphere facing the temple.
However, despite the setting and the kindness of the servers, the quality of the dishes is relatively average and far from the taste of real local dishes. The bill at the end is excessive compared to the quality of the dishes and what can generally be found in Ubud.
In addition we had to pay for the dance show which took place at the temple. We were only having dinner with very little visibility of the show. If you want to see the show, don't go through the restaurant.

We came to dinner here on recommendation and the truth is a 10. We had visited the temple before, but being able to dine watching it at night has been a very nice experience. There is also music in the background and at 7.30pm every day there is a dance show that you can watch from the table. The deal is 10, we have been served by Puriani, a sky, very attentive to us with everything we needed.
Value for money very well. It's a little more expensive than there usually is for Ubud, but you have to take into account the location, the views, the treatment and how good the food is. It's worth a lot.

Ubud is a really nice place over all. Me and my sister were wandering around, looking for a place to eat. We stumbled upon The Cafe Lotus. We were drawn in by its warm interior and the enormous temple behind it. It truly was a sight to behold!
We had to wait about five minutes to be seated. No biggie since it was around 7 PM so it was bound to be quite busy.
The staff was very friendly and gave us a nice spot to view the restaurant's live entertainment by the temple. We ordered some fish and chips (just to play it safe) and watched a traditional Indonesian show in the meantime.
The meal was delicious and we happily took a little dessert afterwards. It also wasn't too pricey (especially coming from the Netherlands)
We had a good time and, if I ever get the chance to go back to Bali, I'll definitely stop by again.

Fairly mediocre tent. The view you have is great, but the service is slow and does not listen. Upon entering it took ten minutes before I received a menu (there were eight guests in the entire place). After ordering I had to wait 20 minutes for my drinks. The watermelon juice was lukewarm and the iced tea I ordered without sugar was packed with sugar syrup. The salad I ordered contained eggs whose yolks had completely discolored, I think they had been cooked a few days ago, and the lettuce was far from fresh, although the Parmesan cheese was generously present. The next dessert (fried banana with ice cream, with the request to serve it without coconut shavings) came 40 minutes later, of course, covered in coconut shavings. From the moment we were welcomed by the charismatic Wijana Budi, we knew we were in for a treat at Cafe Lotus. The stunning water gardens set the perfect backdrop, making it feel like we were dining in the middle of paradise—if paradise came with tasty food and excellent service.
The food? Absolutely delicious, bursting with flavor that made our tastebuds sing. The service? Top-notch! We felt like royalty (or at least very important tourists). Every dish was served with a smile, and the whole experience felt relaxed and refined.

I have been a loyal patron of The Cafe Lotus since 1986, shortly after it first opened, with its wonderful Balinese/Indonesian cuisine and unparalleled location overlooking the magnificent Puri Saraswati right smack in the middle of Ubud's main thoroughfare. What was once a sleepy village is now a cheek-by-jowl, bumper-to-bumper magnet for tourists from all over the world, but The Cafe Lotus pretty much remains as its always been. Having just enjoyed another stay at the Puri Saraswati Bungalows, now operated and brilliantly renovated by Dijiwa but again retaining its unique Balinese charm, breakfast at The Cafe Lotus was included with our room. And what a breakfast! A generous, multi-course list of Balinese and western favorites, all of which were delicious, accompanied by a cup of powerful Bali kopi, all the while observing the lotus plants and temple. What a way to start each day, especially when served by the restaurant's gracious staff, always welcoming with the friendliness for which Bali has become legendary. Special thanks on this recent trip to Wijana and Alika for looking after our every need and request. Until next time, matur suksma to one and all at The Cafe Lotus!
