The Glass House is that quaint building on Jl.Tamblingan down the northern end of Sanur that you may have seen with the white plantation shutters is renowned for its fabulous coffee and home made cakes. Many popular seafood and other dishes including vegetarian and the popular local Indonesian favorites are served . Friendly staff, fresh organic ingredients meat Frosty juices, ice cold smoothies and milkshakes are a winner here. Fine quality Indonesian wines are available by the glass and the bottle at very competitive prices. You may also bring your own if you wish. The Glass House is a wonderful place to relax and enjoy the friendly atmosphere and delicious food. A place where you actually get what you ordered!! Oh and remember IDR60,000 cocktails every afternoon between 4 - 7pm Very trendy hang out. Watch out for our live music nights also and our now famous seafood platters and special events.

Lots to like about this place - option of open air or air conditioned seating inside. Staff were very attentive, particularly FW who was delightful.
We shared calamari and lime seared salmon for starters, both were very good. Mains were the popular coconut crusted barramundi and grilled prawns - again both dishes were beautifully cooked and presented and quite generous portions. Drinks aside the meals cost us around A$40 in total which was quite reasonable for the quality of the food that we thoroughly enjoyed

It was a joy to return to our favourite Bali restaurant, one we frequented every week whilst living in Bali for 2 years. Its been some years since we have been back but the Glass House is just as we remember it and as good as ever. Some of our old favourites were still on the menu but all meals are great. We were amazed that even the complimentary oven baked vegetable crunchy chips were still served as soon as you sat down. The restaurant is beautifully air-conditioned, particularly good for tourists still adjusting to Balis heat. With just 2 in our dining party, we loved siting up at the high table overlooking the bar and smokers room (open to the street) and watching Bli life go by.

Beautiful restaurant. Delicious good. Very reasonably priced food & drink. Great staff. Wednesday live music is fabulous. Best seafood platter in Bali, 49k for 2, including fish, prawns, calamari & lobster, with chips, rice, salad & condiments

The menu is unfortunately badly written and not really understandable if you have allergies or special preferences (for example vegan). The waitress seemed to not understand what vegan meant when we were there for dinner. Nice place if you want to be able to eat inside with aircon. The staff were really friendly the first time we were there. The vegetarian curry with temphe and tofu was really good.
I would really recommend that the restaurant stated what is vegan/dairy free and not since it has a "vegetarian/vegan" menu. Would also recommend to be more helpful and service minded when a customer complains about not being able to drink a served smoothie that contains milk due to allergies when it is not stated on the meny that it contains it (especially when it is pricy compared to others). This has not been a problem anywhere else on our trip.
Im sorry for giving a bad review, we tried to solve it by our complaint.

A very disappointing experience. Ordered one starter 2 main courses. Starter of calimari for my wife arrived served with chips along with my main course, the fish basket. Explained that the calimari was for a starter, waitress said it was result of new waiter, should he be taking orders? Or was it fault of kitchen not reading order?.Calamari was returned to my wife without chips and was little cold by now.
My fishbasket was very mediocre, overcooked cold prawns, cold onion rings or calamari, quite soggy, two pieces of fish were OK and chips not very hot.
My wife's steak arrived covered in sauce, this was ordered with sauce separate, it was taken back to kitchen and served with sauce separate, however the sauce had been washed off.By now her meal was not very hot and I had finished mine.
To summarise I found it to be overpriced and over rated, they also have + +.
I won't return, there are far better restaurants

Finally decided to impress a couple of Bali friends we'd made over the years. It was quiet - the odd tables of singles and doubles having a meal or a drink. We ordered the coconut prawns (excellent), seafood platter for one (ok but no better), battered fish and chips (plenty of batter and paper thin fish hiding inside - poor), a trio of sliders which our Bali friend seemed to enjoy and a spaghetti carbonara which looked and smelled good and by all accounts was good. Service naturally was good given the low head count and the drinks were par for the course. At half the price I'd have awarded another star but sad to say, overpriced. Apparently owned by Aussies. If we had our druthers we'd not return. Many much better eateries within a minute's walk at decidedly cheaper prices. Situated right next to the ICON mall/complex. Maybe not the same cooks that earned them high praise in the past.

Definitely worth a visit!
We ended up here on our last evening during our tour through Java and Bali. It was very busy and even though we had not made a reservation we still got a seat. The food is definitely worth it. Everything tasty and fresh, a bit more expensive than the average prices in Bali, but highly recommended to eat here!! The atmosphere is also pleasant.

Fantastic food. Favourite. Seafood platter amazing, however unable to source the lobster so compensated with extra prawns. Others dining had the porks ribs which were beautiful and the garlic prawns with pasta. Dessert lemon meringue pie nearly the best ever had. Took our own wine. Very cheap corkage. Very inexpensive meal. Service very good. Will definitely be back.

We visited The Glass House twice during a recent trip to Sanur on our honeymoon. It is a lovely small restaurant with a fantastic local menu and superb staff. On arrival they provide some great vegetable crisps (beetroot, potato, etc) great addition to help you mull over the menu.
My wife had the chicken sate main course which was absolutely delicious, and the peanut sauce was particularly good! I had the Nasi Goreng which was also extremely good.
The meal was so delicious that we returned on our last night in Sanur, they were incredibly accommodating, including a special request to alter one of the main courses slightly.. The team at The Glass House remembered us from the first night, which was nice, particularly given they are clearly a busy restaurant. I can highly recommend a trip to The Glass House if you are visiting Sanur.

Lovely little find - perfect for a coffee and a snack. We booked an evening meal and unfortunately they ran out of wine after one glass and the food was nice but not as nice as the afternoon treats. The restaurant belongs to the villas next door and therefore breakfast is included for all holiday makers staying at the villas.

Excellent communication via WhatsApp.
We had eaten here previously, the last time was 2018 so we had to try it again.
We booked and ordered the Jimbarin Seafood Platter for two people 2 days beforehand. It was delicious and fresh seafood and we thoroughly enjoyed it.
The Passionfruit Mojitos and the Mango Daquiri's are also amazing.
The staff were so friendly and accommodating.
I seriously could not fault one thing.

Excellent staff who make the place that much better. Had chilli squid which was wonderful and partner had a vegetarian dish of "Harry's Halloumi" and not a bit left on her plate. Daiquiris (strawberry & mango) were really nice and you see the fresh fruit made in front of you. Great music as well. Would be great to have an analouge clock above the bar, that would look great. Thank you Glasshouse. See you soon again & again 👌

This place is a wonderful haven on Tamblingan. Number 1 thing an enclosed area with AC away from smokers who do not consider others eating. Could not fault the food and staff. The beef pie was perfect pastry, tender beef with real mash and peas. Cakes fresh and delicious, toastie fresh thick toast, just what was needed. Definitely will be coming back.

The whole evening was amazing. The menu was fabulous; we had the special which was red snapper, lobster Thermidor, calamari, king prawns, a local flatfish grilled with grated coconut with chips and rice and spicy condiments. I cannot rave enough about the food, the service and the live singer (live music every Wednesday) which were all faultless. We are staying all week having breakfast which we are thrilled to bits about but the meal tonight was without question one of the best meals we have had in a very long time. Amazing value and totally worth the price. Thank you.

Booked online at the last minute, no issues getting a table, and the restaurant responded quickly.
The Glass House is a lovely venue consisting of both reasonably sized indoor and outdoor seated areas. Decor is lovely and very welcoming. Service is good being attentive but not overbearing.
We shared bruscetta and salt n pepper squid for entrees before tucking into a meat pie, crumbed prawns, steak, and classic fish & chips for mains. A tip for the kitchen would be to ensure pies are not over-cooked as the pastry becomes hard and the filling dry. But otherwise, the food was well presented and very tasty!
Pricing is above average for Sanur.
