We ate lunch here following the reviews on trip advisor. I ordered the Thali which had 2 curries that were inedible - one of them had a taste of rotten vegetable although I concede this could be a combination of spices that gave it the taste; either way, it was disgusting. The Thali is served from the steel cylindrical containers... More

We ate dinner and lunch here during a weekend n Madurai. My friend thought this was the best meal she had in our five weeks in Southern India. The waiters were helpful in suggesting how to navigate the menu and really attentive. For lunch, the standard lunch menu proved the best choice, with lots of interesting dishes, delicious tastes and... More

Sabarees has all types of cuisines like chinese, north indian etc..., something which I hardly found in Madurai. Among south indian dishes few of the dishes which we tasted were very tasty and different like - 5 taste uttapam, 7 taste uttapam, National color Uttapam, Ghee Podi (Dry chatni powder) uttapam. A good restaurant near to sriram mess and close... More

I had been to this place is last November. It serves delicious south indian food and is one of the best place to eat. Only drawback is that the place is too crowded and you are expected to eat fast and vacate the seat. The place is close to Madurai station and we packed the food for our 24 hr... More

My husband and I ate dinner here last evening. It is very local and we were the only westerners in the place - the menu is in English and service was very fast. No atmosphere to speak of, but with food this good and this cheap, who cares? We've been travelling for 7 weeks in S. India and this is... More

Very busy but waiters serve food with good behaviour. Try Ponni Rice with 8 different curries. I specially suggest the Dahi Curry (Curd Curry), Payas. The quality of Curd, Papad is really good. Take also their suggestions. Price is Reasonable. Good for tourists. And it is near the Meenakshi Amman Temple. Try their food and let make some good memory... More

Amazing ragi (finger millet) dosai with particular chutneys!! The tiffins served outside are also delicious and cheap (but check they don't add you the tea if you won't have it, because it's common to have the tiffins with tea, so usually they charge it without asking...). I also tried vegetables manchurian and it was too heavy, grease and salty for... More
