This restaurant is located in the centre of the city but down a quiet back street, and the closed gate makes you think you’ve got the wrong place. After climbing some steep stairs / ladders past some beautiful local art, you arrive at on the roof with a range of comfortable seating, and a spectacular view of the Fort. The server is also the chef, he is lovely and very interesting to talk to - we went at 4pm so there were no other customers and able to chat. We asked for something quick and he made a truly delicious veggie meal for us from scratch in 15 minutes - a chickpeas curry and an aubergine one, each with distinct flavours and genuinely a memorable meal ! He enjoys cooking , prides himself on the quality of the food, and everything is made from scratch to order. To top it off , each dish cost just a few pounds ! Make sure you stop here when in Jodhpur and don’t be put off on the way thinking you’ve got lost :)

It is a must visit place in Jodhpur, does not matter if you are in jodhpur for a day or a week. The host is very friendly and co-operative. We were 10 people and this cozy place accommodated us gracefully. It has scenic view of Mehrangarh fort. They serve freshly cooked food, without any preservatives or frozen food. And the prices are nothing as compare to the quality they serve. I strongly recommend the place.

Lovely spot! We came here for breakfast and dinner. The food is cooked fresh, and was absolutely delicious. We had the special Dhal Bati which was enough for 2 people. Manager is very welcoming. Lovely view of the city. Couldn’t recommend enough!!

Although I have been to Café Laalten many MANY times, recently, fate got me sitting at the rooftop of Laalten when the skies decided to shower upon the magnificent city of Jodhpur.
And this is how I ended up with a steaming hot cup of chai, little drops of rain, light music in my ears, the glimmering fairy lights and the ever-majestic Mehrangarh fort in front of me.
This evening which was reserved for some pending college work, turned into an insightful evening with myself. I guess, that is the beauty of this café, that you can be alone with your thoughts, right in the middle of the city of Jodhpur.
Café Laalten is not any other café that you may have been to. It is a feeling of comfort and a slowly creeping vibe of elation that fills your heart with warmth.
This is a place where you can find a splendid collection of books for every mood of yours, and food that doesn’t just satiate your tummy, but your heart as well. My personal recommendation to you is the Sadabahr Sandwich which will make your taste buds roll with joy.
And not just this, here you are also sure to make a new friend in Himanshu who has left no stone unturned in ensuring that Laalten speaks directly to your soul.
And how can I forget the beautiful paintings that adorn every wall of the café. From the entrance itself, the vibrant colors around you will lift your spirits and set the vibe of the pleasant time you are about to have at Laalten.
So you see what I am trying to convey here? Laalten is not just a café. It is the savior of your soul and the uplifter of your spirits. It is your chance to finally find yourself.

A very nice terrace with sofas on which you can easily relax. The dishes are delicious just like masala tea, all with views of the fort. The owner built 2 new terraces very clear. All that's missing is a shelter from the sun because it's pounding during the day. Very pleasant family atmosphere.

Fun view and friendly manager. Food was fairly priced, and tasted great. Cooked fresh so be prepared to wait a little while. Nice view of the fort and funky restaurant construction. Ground floor is a home, so ask for the cafe to be shown where to go.

Food here is excellent! Went twice for both breakfast and dinner. All the food we tried was delicious and cooked completely fresh for us. Host is so friendly and welcoming, it feels like you have been friends for a while. Great view of the fort from the rooftop as well. Highly recommend in Jodhpur!

Cafe Laalten is undoubtedly a perfect place to chill in the blue city. If you're a person who loves different types of art forms, then this place is surely for you. With an abundance of material to read the owner of the cafe Mr. Himanshu Sharma is a walking human library himself.
The environment is a setup for live music and generally you'll seen ton of local talent hanging out and performing there.
When it comes to food the cafe is pocket friendly and ensures taste and quality over anything.
Overall the environment is all set for you to spend some quality time while learning new things and enjoying the vibe of sublime Art Space in the heart of Blue City Jodhpur.

After visiting the place more then 20 times, I would like to recommend this place to the people who want their own happy time with a beautiful city vibe and view of majestic Mehrangarh Fort.
Talking about the Menu part, it's a budget friendly cafe and mainly all them recipes are by the owner it self. That represents hygine with quality served.

Art ,Literature, food and fort view💙
Jodhpur's first art cafe @cafe_laalten
It is a cafe made with art and for artists. I absolutely fell in love with the wall art aka paintings also thr asthetics of this place are on point.They have a huge collection of classic literature. It is a place with beautiful art, amazing literature, fort view and decent food. Also it is a pure reservations based cafe, so try not to show up unannounced. Do let them know beforehand. However if you are looking for just a perfect meal out than this is not the place but decent food with serene ambience is what you will find here. The owner is a very humble defence personnel, who is art lover as well.

Its a shame that I only discovered this place on my last night in the blue city. Since the second I entered, it felt like home. Right from each element of decor to the library of books to the manager, Himanshu, who went out of his way to make this a comfortable evening. Food was A1, service was A1, VIEWS WERE A1+ and the vibes just can't be put in numbers or words.
If you are into art, books, or just good old conversation - this is the best place for you in the area!
