We ate here with a family group. The steak, chicken, and soup were excellent. My favorite thing was the fresh pineapple juice. We ordered on pitcher and enjoyed it around the table. The popcorn and corn nuts were also delicious. This was one of our more expensive meals while in Ecuador (about $15 dollars per person), but the food was... More

One of the larger and nicer restaurants in Cotacachi. The food is good and they do a large tourist business so if a tourist bus is in, it can be very crowded.

El Lenador is not just a restaurant frequented by tourists. On this Sunday at lunch, the tables were filled with local families. The menu is large but our party of five chose the menu of the day, soup and a lamb stew. Service was excellent. The traditional potato and cheese soup was delicious. The lamb was tender and served with... More

We had lunch today at Leñador. Staff was really kind trying to serve. Since there were a lot of people they were overwhelmed and food took longer than expected. Vegetarian dishes have many carbs on them and we ended ordering sea bass and trout but was not tasty . Besides the sea bass was not well cooked. So I cannot... More

We stopped here for lunch on our way back from Otavalo. After explaining about my vegan dietary needs they had no problem supplying me with plenty of rice, beans and fresh cooked veggies. We were a party of six and there was no problem accommodating us. Many other larger families at tables. Service was punctual and food tasty. Clean atmosphere... More

The food and service here are always amazing, even when there's not another soul in the place...which brings me to my one complaint: there's never another soul in the place (at least for dinner). The great food and competent service can't compete with the letdown of eating in a huge dining room...alone. Even with seven or eight friends at seven... More

We stopped here for lunch after hiking around Cuicocha Lagoon and we thoroughly enjoyed our 4-course meal of the day. From the ceviche to the potato soup to the pollo hornado to the papaya al vino - everything was delicious and made you crave more. Excellent meal that gave us a great picture of Ecuadorean cuisine.

My family therially enjoyed the meals we had at this restaurant. We each had different meals, shrimp, pork shops and chicken . Everyone thought the food was excellent, even though a little more expensive, it was worth it. They spoke English and were very accommodating on substitutions.

Nice elegant restaurant with good service. Even though they have on their door that they take credit cards every time that I have been they say they do not. I had the garlic shrimp and requested rice instead of French fries. The shrimp has a kind of gravy that is good to pour over the rice which was good. My... More

Very nice ambiance and very good food. More pricier than most in the same area but I liked the linen tablecloths and the cleanliness of the place. Food was very good but not great for vegetarians. Seems like locals come here too and not just tourists.
