Agora is now open every evening serving you BBQ dinners in the open cool area of the garden cafe. Join Alu, Paula, Kelo, Ana, Eulalia and the team as they begin their venture to serve you Agora's classics in Timor Plaza and also through off-site catering in your office or home. This place is a little hidden gem. The coffee was amazing and the staff were knowledgeable in their recommendations. We came for a coffee each day as it was well priced and consistently good. Our children really liked the smoothies.
On our final visit we had brunch which was a sensation! Fresh ingredients, beautifully presented and the flavours all complimented each other. Each dish was around $3.50 so also a good price.
The staff were friendly and seem to enjoy practising their English with some native English speakers. Well worth the trip to find this place and the road to get there is filled with friendly Timorese who greet you.

The food was very creative and seemed to be original choices of the chef. My friend and I had different selections and everything was perfect. Service was also wonderful. We felt like we were eating in someone’s home. Fantastic!

What an amazing cafe, with some of the most kind and helpful staff I’ve come to meet. The staff are all proficient in English, which is uncommon in Timor-Leste. I had gotten Agora recommended, and had their tamarind/cinnamon/turmeric juice that was super refreshing. Their staff helped me on multiple occasions, bringing me on motorbike to a cockfighting arena after hearing my curiosity, and driving me out of Dili to Dare. One of their cooks even showed me around the local Taibesi vegetable market. I simply cannot recommend Agora Food Studio enough for anyone visiting Dili.

We had a soft-opening dinner of this newly opened Agora Food Studio on 10 August. The dinner course included a demonstration of food items (ground dried corn and baked potatoes) which were often eaten by independent-seeking fighters during the Indonesian occupation. The stories of this country’s near past seen via the food items were very educational, in addition to the dishes that used local ingredients. Kudos to the restaurant staff who inherited this monumental venture from Alva and Mark!

We arrived at 3.00PM and went directly to do a 4.00PM cooking class at Agora. It was the most wonderful way to be introduced to Dili. The people we met were wonderful and friendly. It was a great way to learn about their food and culture and have a wonderful afternoon with the most wonderful people. It is also a great place just to eat but to really appreciate the food I strongly suggest doing to cooking course.

We are regulars at Agora Food Studio and recently did the cooking class. The Agora team are passionate and knowledgeable about local produce. The team patiently showed us how to cook two local dishes, followed by dinner (with additional dishes pre-prepared by the team).I highly recommend the Agora classes. Thanks Agora Food Studio team!

Agora Food Studio is a must dine destination when visiting Dili.
For the last several years the team at Agora Food Studio have provided dining experiences for Timor Unearthed tour groups including high school and university groups, and private family/friend groups.
Not only does Agora Food Studio offer great restaurant/cafe dining but they also offer Timorese Food Masterclasses and food tour experiences. Our tour groups have participated in a number of these experiences - it is always a highlight of our tours. Our travelers are always impressed by the quality of food and passion of the AFS team.
The AFS team invests heavily in the development of local staff and by dining at AFS you are supporting the development of the tourism and hospitality industry in Timor-Leste.
Great Timorese coffee, delicious local ingredients, and passionate people!

My wife and I dropped in to Agora Food Studio while we were at the swimming pool next door. What a delicious meal in such a lovely setting away from the bustle of the Plaza. Hospitality at its best. Well done to Kelli and the team.

Came here a few times for lunch and had some amazing food! The staff here are very friendly and offered coffee making lessons! The coffee here is great and is right next to Timor Plaza hotel!

Shady garden setting with excellent service & a wonderful menu. The stunning purple sweet potato croquettes were delicious, with a delicately constructed salad. Highly recommend the tamarind juice… the perfect balance of tart & sweet. On top of all this the ethos of this restaurant is fantastic, supporting local farmers and developing healthy eating approaches. I will be back!!

I loved everything about Agora. The location is such a surprise that you feel very special being there. The food is incredible. Everything is so well thought out and delicious. the principles behind everything they do are spot on. The coffee is the best in timor. and the staff are so lovely.
