Having seen a review on this restaurant we decided to have dinner there. We each ordered the beef goulash and potato dumplings. The waiter suggested that we just get one order of the dumplings and when we ordered the house wine he suggested a half carafe. We were impressed that he would do this and he was right. The atmosphere... More

We stopped for lunch on our first day in Opatija and were impressed by both the food and the value. We ate a 'starter' each and then shared a cherry strudel afterwards. That was plenty of food for lunch. The bill, including drinks, was just over 150 Kn; very reasonable for freshly cooked, tasty food. They were serving a large... More

Nice, quiet location with great people working there. Food is yummy, you can choose meet or fish, they have a lot of side dish, and daily advised menu. Prices are great and everyone can afford eating there. Portions are huge and you will not leave with empty stomach. Just great!

We enjoyed a pretty good dinner, perhaps being made more enjoyable by the fact that our servings were less than Gargantuan, as seems to be the case in this neck of the Adriatic. The clear fish broth was delicate, light and invigorating. A minestrone, Istrian style, including corn kernels among the other veggies, was hearty and flavorful. The veal roast... More

I had a gluten free meal of grilled calamari, potatoes and spinach. My appetizer was beef consume. My husband had veal, however they ran out of potatoes.

Looking forward to a typical Croatian meal. Not so. The goulash was just beef in a gravy, the mackerel was fine but the mussels were tiny, under size. We called in at lunch to book a table and chatted with a patron. He was enjoying a massive plate of prawns. That was not on the menu. Tonight we saw a... More

We stopped for a Saturday lunch at noon and found easy searing and pleasant ambience. The waiter spoke very good English and provided helpful advice. We had the minestrone with sausage and the goulash with added homemade noodles. Both dishes were excellent. See photo. Apparently the venison goulash is not always available, depending on when they can "catch a deer!"... More
