Once we arrived they told us no to ask for device because it was going to take 20 minutes. Once we ordered what they suggested it took one hour and thirty minutes to get our appetizer and almost two hours for the main dishes. The food was good but by the time it arrived we were mad and hungry.

El Barco is in the Itigui District of Medellin, away from the fancier parts of town, barely has a sign, filled with Colombians who know how good it is. During my 3 weeks in Medellin, I had the good fortune to have 3 meals here. This place is a local secret; fantastic seafood at great prices. There are plates with... More

I've eaten a lot of seafood in my month floating around Colombia, but this topped it in all aspects. The restaurant itself feels almost hidden. You enter a fish shop and take a small staircase up above. There are a couple levels of restaurant and it is full of fishing and sea life themed art and decor. Most of the... More

Every plate we had was cooked and seasoned to perfection. We had as an appetizer shrimp ceviche which was seasoned with a household sauce that was different because we usually expect a citrus taste but this was excellent. Also had some tuna as appetizer with an equally different and interesting taste....awesome! and finally we rapped it up with fresh caught... More

Took two tries to find this place, but worth the effort. Best to take a taxi. Lobster tails, shrimp, fish and chowders. Has solved my husband's need for a lobster fix. Fun nautical Carribbean motif. Tricky tiny spiral staircase up into restaurant from fish shop below adds to the delight of finding a secret hideaway. Have been twice already.

Absolutely amazing restaurant. High quality seafood and like nothing else I have found in Colombia much less the States. The prices are extremely reasonable, and by US standards an unbelievable bargain. Add that to the service and a cool atmosphere and you have no reason to miss this place next time you are in Medellin. It is located in an... More

This is as authentic as you can get! To get there, get off at the Ayura metro station, and catch an easy $2 taxi ride to the address. It takes about 3 minutes. Look for a sign that read Buen y Mar. Mostly locals come from all over the valley to taste the best seafood in Medellin.. The cazuela is... More

After reading about this place in Medellin Living and here on TripAdvisor, my husband and I decided to make the trip to Itagui to check it out. We had a taxi drop us off at the Plaza Mayorista and got a little lost walking down a couple of questionable streets so just make sure you take the right street there!... More

Food is crazy good, home made plates from very fresh fish and seafood. You have to try la cazuela de mariscos, terrific taste. Interior design is very interesting too. We feel well. Warm staff and the owners are very welcoming. A MUST in town. Johan From France.

Went with my girlfriend Angie and my best friend Jonathan and his family to this resturant. It by all means does not look like a resturant or the area. There is a seafood market in the bottom and stairs going up to the resturant. Once up, you see and smell the delicious aroma. Warning, they do tell you that the... More
