Big chain. Saw more outlets in Changchun on 14 & 15 May too. 10 May: We ate at its Zhongyang Main Street's (中央大街Zhong yang Da Jie) outlet. It is on the basement level. We found out later, there was another outlet on the first storey...(British system: ground floor) Location: Along pedestrianized street, Central Street (中央大街).Near 13th street west. Food we had: Had a mix of 4 kinds of dumplings, 24 dumplings altogether at ¥49. You may wanna order likewise, taste them and then decide which you like best and order more of that kind. We love all of them. We also had deep fried beef fritters(锅包牛肉)and a vegetable dish which comprised of celery/lily bulbs/chinese herb Huai Shan (西芹百合淮山)。 The former was good,it was like 咕咾肉(deep fried pork fritters in Singapore) but the meat was beef instead of pork and its sauce was like Thai sweet and sour lemon chicken sauce & ginger strips were added; and the latter was the best vegetable dish we've tried so far, fresh, crunchy & tasty! I do not fancy Chinese herbs but 淮山Huai Shan is one of the few Chinese herbs that I like. It is white in colour and it is crunchy in this dish. Most people have the idea that Chinese herbs are bitter in taste but Huai Shan is different. Ambience: Presentable Price: almost ¥130 Service: Good especially a kind tea lady (employee no.003) who was proactive in almost everything. We were at Xin Wang Restaurant at Disneyland, Shanghai twice and we had to pour water by ourselves, thought we had to do likewise at Oriental Dumpling but tea lady rushed to serve us. When we had wanted to make our 2nd order of the dumplings, tea lady 003 recommended that we should take another dumpling mix, much reasonably priced. Bill was brought to table. 13 May: Location: ate at 昆仑酒店 (Kun Lun Hotel) outlet, near 哈尔滨火车站/哈站(Harbin Train Station) Food we had : mix of 5 types of dumplings. The new one is orange in colour. Not much different from the rest, they just added maize in it, only one orange one was given to us. We also had fried brown rice with some beans. It was super delicious! Ambience : outlet is much bigger than the first one we ate at. Ambience better at 昆仑酒店(Kun Lun Hotel) outlet too. Cost : ¥80 Service: Good! Bill and sweets were brought to our table for us. P/S: please read our review on high-end restaurant, Modern Coffee & Restaurant at 89 Zhongyang Main Street 中央大街.More

Another good Dumpling chain location like that of Xi Jia De. We ate so many dumplings with different fillings: shrimp with eggs and chives, celery and beef, then onions and pork, it's overall very good and cozy cheap place like how I described earlier.

I must say that they serve a good variety of dumplings and fairly good taste. We ate this for dinner and my husband and I enjoyed. Unfortunately, there is no English menu and we had to rely on photos which made the dumplings all look...the same.More

I don't know if it is true but I have heard that there are 200 dongfang jiaozi wang locations in Harbin. Traveling around it is easy to believe though, as they seem to be everywhere! I have eaten at DFJW 3 times now and each...time we have carefully prepared how to order our preferred choices. Every time this preparation has fallen flat as when we get there dish after dish is not available. It is difficult to tell if they are sold out or if they are actually never available, however dishes like the chicken wings and fried dumplings are repeatedly not available for me. We have eaten several types of boiled dumpling here and they are always tasty and meaty and fresh. No complaints here! One pan of dumplings is 12 dumplings. For 2 people I would order 2 pans of dumplings and 1 side dish - note their side dishes are quite large.More

Good place for dumplings and crystal noodles. No one speaks English but the menu card has an English version which was quite helpful. It's a little crowded during peak hours but there's lot of space too. People move in and out of the restaurant so...we did not have to wait much. Service is good with smiling faces.More

We visited the place during Ice festival time after reading tripadvisor reviews. The restaurant was busy and it might be the reason the staff was not coping. We live in China and do know what to expect from local places but this experience was not...good. When plates arrived they were not washed properly and we should have left then. We ordered the food and though it arrived in large portions, the taste was blunt. I guess the food is cheap but was still expecting more after good reviews for the place. One more - the bathroom was filthy even by China standards and that's something you don't want to experience.More

For an Indian traveler with no language aid in China can be a daunting and adventurous proposition, but King of Dumplings made it all easy. The menu is self explanatory, each food had a corresponding description in English and also some photographs to go with....The staff courteous and cordial and very affectionate having realised, that my friend and I did not speak a word of Chinese. But the real clincher came with the food - delicately created dumplings and beautifully crafted Chinese Cabbage. What was additionally amazing was the price at which this festival of taste came at. Less than $3 a person.More

I have been traveling to Harbin on a consistent base for long time and this is one of my favorite restaurants in town. The first time I went was in 2006 and I liked the local handmade dumplings (jiaozi). Now it became a chain in...franchising but it still kept the habit to make the dumplings manually on the spot just after the order as per the local tradition. There are several locations and some have also the menu in English or offer a better menu. The service is always fast and in my opinion it may be considered a healthy option to the american fast food chains.More

All the food was fantastic. The decor looked like a restaurant. You can watch them make dumplings. Ate there twice. Value for money was very good.
