We had been to its sister restaurant Friends in Phnom Pen and enjoyed tapas there so decided to try this one out . We were not disappointed. The food and atmosphere was great and the staff in training are so enthusiastic and attentive. I find the t shirts with Teacher and Student on quite amusing and you know who to... More

Although Marum is a social enterprise business to aid the marginalized youth by offering them training in the hospitality industry, this in no way affected the quality and taste of the food. In fact, every dish we tried was delicious. The service too wasn't disappointing. Although some of the students didn't speak English, they were attentive and pleasantly polite. The... More

Another restaurant providing training and catering experience for local young people. A such it is to be welcomed and one needs to go with an open mind as the staff are "in training" and so a level of polish will be lacking. We selected the tasting menu - taking the lazy option after a long exhausting day among the temples... More

Marum is a place to get a first rate meal and also serves as a training establishment for people entering the restaurant trade. So you can enjoy good food and help provide an opportunity for people to train to make a living at the same time. We were recommended it by our tour guide, and we were happy that he... More

As we stayed in Siem Reap we ate here twice, and both times we were far from disappointed, the service was of a good standard, o.k. some lacking in english skills, but that is the idea of the place to help the homeless and the teachers were never far away to help. The food was a delight with fresh ingredients... More

While sympathetic and supportive of the initiative, i felt that the trainees were not prepared sufficiently to be in these positions yet. Knowing which side to place a knife and fork (as one example amonst many) should be taught to them before they begin interacting with the diners. I also found that the cost of the meal was high compared... More

Firstly, Marum is very beautifully set amongst trees with romantic lighting outside in the evening.Inside and downstairs, the decor is more functional. The staff are trainees and do their best but there may be a few communication mishaps. The night I went our booking wasn't recorded. The food was really delicious with wonderful flavour combinations. However, the portions were quite... More
