Tripadvisor’s approach to reviews
Before posting, each Tripadvisor review goes through an automated tracking system, which collects information, answering the following questions: how, what, where and when. If the system detects something that potentially contradicts our community guidelines, the review is not published.
When the system detects a problem, a review may be automatically rejected, sent to the reviewer for validation, or manually reviewed by our team of content specialists, who work 24/7 to maintain the quality of the reviews on our site.
Our team checks each review posted on the site disputed by our community as not meeting our community guidelines.

I was the only one there. I read about the lamb. I’m not a fan of that type. But tried it anyway. The salsa was excellent. But I’d likely opt for a local less expensive place next time. Didn’t like the salad. Geez. I’m not...high maintenance. Go small and local here I think. At the market maybe.More

I reckon this place serves the best lamb in the world. I've been there many times and each time its great. The restaurant is clean and modern; especially the toilets. The service is pretty good for Bolivia. The beer is cold. If you're a tourist...is it worth going to Oruro just to eat at Nayjama? I'd say yes. Take 2 days and see some of the amazing sites of the city and eat lunch at Nayjama. Its expensive by Bolivian standards, but well worth it.More

We ordered lamb and beef, we paid 60 bs each which is expensive for oruro, and the food was terrible, my friend ordered a milanesa and it was raw, also 60 bs for that, i dont know many other restaurants in Oruro but this was...absolutely terrible. More

When I was a kid my parents used to take me there almost everyday for lunch time. I don't recall ever having a complain about the food when I was a kid. The food was always delicious. Last week I decided to go for lunch....They remodeled the place really nice and it looks a lot better than what it was before. My food experience was the worst I had in Bolivia. I had tastier food in the local market for far less than what they charge. To me price is not an issue as long as the food is delicious. The entry was cold and the vegetables didn't taste fresh. The soup was salty and warm not hot like it should be. The main dish from what it looked it was a dish called "Chorrellana" a dish made with white rice and steak covered with saute onions and tomatoes. As soon as I got my plate the first thing I smelled was the smell of raw meet. My meet was fully cooked but that smell was very strong and was coming from my dish. The dessert was the only descent food I tried. It was chirimoya ice cream. Although it was the best dish from my visit it wasn't perfect. Service - The service was very bad. The lady that served my food brought my dishes too early. My food got cold while I was still eating. Would I ever go back to Nayjama again? I doubt it, although I had great times when I was a kid, I felt really disappointed at the service and the food. I tried other restaurants nearby and the food was way better than Nayjama and the price was less than as well. I hope they get their act together and hire a new chef or bring back the old chef that used to cooked in the 90s. Back then I would've given then a 5 star rate!More

The portions are huge, so do not take one for each person. They are super quick if you are in a hurry to take the train. The food was super good. I recommend the quinua pie. They have many gluten free options. The prices are...good also.More

We had a somewhat early dinner here and the food was very good. One suggestion, stay away from the fried fish as it was very oily and tasted more of batter and oil than fish, otherwise the dishes were spectacular and the lamb was especially...good.More

Stopped here for lunch with my husband before we hopped on the train to Uyuni. Thought as it was #1 on trip advisor for the city, we couldn't really go wrong. Prior to receiving our meals we were given some stale bread, served by the...hands of the waitress, accompanied by salsa. We ordered a lamb dish and a pasta dish- Google translate really didn't help me with my lamb dish as it ended up being a plate full of kidneys (my fault entirely, but very unpleasant... I couldn't touch any of mine). The kidneys were accompanied by plain rice and half-mashed and then rolled into a ball potato and a side salad/vegetables (didn't touch any of this either). My husband's dish was supposed to be linguini with vegetables. It was actually half a packet of spaghetti with some vegetables and Parmesan on the top. It was so dry, he only had two mouthfuls and we left. The highlight was the Pepsi (which we had to ask for twice) and the toilets were clean and had soap, water and paper towels. Definitely give this one a miss!!!More

Nayjama is only one block (100m) from the trainstation of Oruro. The restaurant is very modern and clean. Even the toilets are incredible clean. This restaurant could be placed in a North American or European city. And the service was also fast and excel-lent. Clean...tables with linen table cloths. The restaurant is divided in an upper and a lower part. One little negative point : only Spanisch menu, but if you know a few words spanisch this could be no problem (polo=chicken) So, we had our lunch before boarding the train to Uyuni at 14h30 : 2x polo a la plan-cha with rice and French fries, 2 bottles of water and free salad mix included for a to-tal of 150Bs (20€). Recommendable !More

The city of Oruro do not exceed as one that has good restaurants in spite of being the capital of the Carnival (World Heritage). Years ago the Nayjama had the privilege of been one of the best for local dishes, but since it got renewed...and converted in a two-floor modern restaurant, it lost the taste. The place still has the name, but has lost the tradition. Still, try the lamb which they know best how to prepare. And the chirimoya ice cream, delicious.More

In front of the railway station to Uyuni - Villazon (argentine borderline) they serve full dishes of Bolivian specialties. Very well known for their excellent lamb plates.

Didn't expect such a place in Oruro! 5 minutes from the train station. Very clean restaurant with absolutely enormous portions! You will find both tourists and Bolivians in this restaurant. A good place to stop in.

This place is very convenient for a nice lunch before you get on the tourist train to Uyuni. It is about a block from the train station. The quality of food is exceptional, they have good vegetarian options. The service is friendly and they were...very understanding when we explained that we had to catch a train in 30 minutes. Overall a great experience.More

My boyfriend and I were super tired and had been carrying our bags for ages and were looking for a big, healthy meal before our train to Tupiza - this place did not disappoint. Insanely huge portions and absolutely delicious food! My boyfriend had the...pasta with chicken and for once there was actually loads of meat in the dish plus loads of veggies too!! I had the vegetarian plate and it was DELICIOUS, again so many veggies including corn on the cob, plus a super tasty veggie burger, rice and caramelised banana I think which went really well with everything. We were so happy to find such great food - we felt bad for not being able to finish our plates! Perfect!More
