If you are traveling on a budget don't get too scared of this fancy place (in comparison to others around same area). You will get excellent food and service, also in English, and can try some traditional food or a good pasta or meat. We...More

Right in the heart of Sucre, this cozy bistro offers very high quality meals, covering Spanish and Italian cuisine. Friendly service, with an excellent, multi lingual host and menus in English or Spanish. An 'all you can eat' salad and vegetable bar is included with...More

Thank you very much for the comment. We are improving the salad and garnish buffet to provide a better quality to our customers. We also improved the menu and service, always pursuing the goal of being the best restaurant in Sucre.

Nice atmosphere, strange menu! Couldn't really understand the menu and it was in English. There were so many options and it was a bit unclear what was included really. The 'buffet' is pretty disappointing. Pasta was fine but nothing special and more expensive than other...More

We are glad you liked the atmosphere and the service. To be honest it is the first time that we have a criticism of the type of menu we use in the restaurant. In the theme of the buffet is not clear what was disappointing,...More

Stayed 2 days in Sucre - both dinners were at El Solar ! Its an understated place but tastefully done with interesting antique pieces. Food is great especially local fare (try the chicken pot dish!) -- there is a salad & appetizer buffet to choose...More

Many thanks for the comment and the good thing is that you had the opportunity to try the food two times in a row and recommend the restaurant.

The restaurant has a modern feel with attention to detail. Staff were attentive and helpful, but no English spoken. It did help having a menu in English. Unfortunately, the food didn't match. We started with the salad, which was pretty basic. I had a pork...More

Many thanks for the comment about the decor and the staff, but there is a detail that I don't understand; In the menu we do not offer dishes with pork, except the Mondongo Chuquisaqueño, which is a traditional dish of Sucre. Anyway, the staff of...More

Unlike the title of "cafe bistro", the restaurant is actually full fare cuisine with emphasis on Bolivian meals. There is a decent wine list. The service staff was excellent for our group of 6 on 2 separate occasions.

This is a good mid range place to eat with pleasant service and good food. We eat there twice for lunch and dinner

A wonderful restaurant serving interesting dishes at great prices. I had steak with an orange sauce that caramelised the meat. My friend had the Chateaubriand and thoroughly enjoyed it. There was a plentiful salad/veg bar included in the price. The waiters were friendly and helpful.

Nice place, with kind staff. There a salad buffet to start included in the price of any main course. As main courses, we had the "cazuela española" (a seafood soup) and a chateaubriand fillet. Both very good. Prices were reasonable.
