When you order menu del dia you expect a decent food and that is it. At El Meson was much more, service was top notch and quality & presentation of dishes served was way above its price. Funny playlist with 90's country's Brazilian songs, some of them not matching at all the place, but a fun (or annoying) detail if... More

The food was fantastic, the service was just as good. I happened to be there for a festival in the main square, which helped to give the place atmosphere. One of the best places I have eaten in south America and the best in Bolivia so far.

We were heading up to 4096, but it seemed to be closed on a Sunday evening so we headed back to El Meson, which looked kinda cute from the street. Inside it looked a little worn, but still alright, and there was a good crowd in there. The menu also sounded pretty good... Unfortunately the food was not good. The... More

El Meson seemed like a nice, atmospheric place. It's a small hole in the wall, right on the main Plaza downtown. You can hardly see it - look for the JB Cafe and then look to your right just across the street. We stumbled in for lunch because we were hungry and there wasn't a great selection of places around.... More

Definetely not a culinary experience, but the place is very well located and it really nice. Deco', forniture but especially the building itself worth the visit. Plus, you are in Potosì: finding a resto with white linen on the table, it is already an acchivement! Bad note to the service: cold and not even by far as good as they... More

Nice restaurant, attentive staff, great chateaubriand for 40bs! Shame about the side of frozen veg but the steak was a bargain and very good piece of meat.

We ate here on a Sunday night. I was sceptical after reading other reviews but our hotel said only two restaurants were open on Sunday night and since it was raining, El Meson was closest. Both my husband and I had soup to start. The soups were very good. He had a steak and I had chicharrons. His steak was... More

My husband and I both ordered steaks, so I cannot say anything about the other items on the menu. The steaks were very tender and tested very good! The price was reasonable as well: 40 BOB ($5.74) for filet mignon with vegitabes, garlic bread, and french fries. The service was evage but not bad as well. Overall, it was a... More

We ate here based on a recommendation in the Footprints guide. The service was laughably bad - candle on table lit half way through meal, warm bottled water and used starter forks handed back to us. The food was even worse - we ordered a Caprese salad which was more dry rubbery cheddar than mozerella and then steaks which whilst... More

Very good cook. Service is good as well. The only negative point is the heat. The room is too hot! You have to pull off all your clothes till the t-shirt! But best place in town for the tipical cook. You have to go at least once before leaving Potosi.
