Was recommended by a friend and well worth seeking out. After all the modernity of Dubai to find a secluded courtyard with 3 start food was perfect. Worth the trip to find it.

The XVA is a beautiful hotel with a lovely courtyard cafe specialising in vegetarian dishes. Fabulous fresh juices, delicious salads, wraps, sorbets - and more. Great value, good sized servings and creative dishes.

This is a great spot near the Dubai Museum. They have covered the courtyard so you still get the feeling of sitting outside while having the comfort of air conditioning. Plenty of great options for vegetarians (but they also serve fish & meat). The grilled halloumi was especially flavorful, tabouleh was very fresh, and I loved the twist of a... More

If you want to visit a traditional emirati house that had been transformed to a guest house. You should go and visit XVA and have their famous mint lemonade. Enjoy the Arabian architecture experience few minutes living in the past surrounded by art works. Don't forget to visit the art gallery showing various paintings / photos

Great service, friendly staff and awesome tasting vegetarian food. A few dishes had fish, but most dishes were just vegetables and fruit. A must try!!!!

While staying at XVA Hotel, we went out for dinner, what a mistake, the food at XVA Cafe was excellent as we discovered later. Give a try to the food here before going for something else. It is great.

One of my fav places in Dubai - genuine peaceful authentic and unique...with healthy food options - amazing place to hide and work in peace an quite, surrounded by "nature"singing birds and cats, as well as art and a gallery. Even in the summer time a nice place to go definitely better during the cooler month but always worth a... More

Xvacafe in AL bastakiya bur Dubai. Hidden spot amongst the light chaos or bur Dubai, this is an old fort town which sits on the "newer" side of the creek. A few galleries and a touch of history, there is also a place which sells camel burgers 😱. Anyway, xva is a gallery and art hotel which also has a... More

A cool little cafe, gallery and hostel; hidden away in Bastakia. It's definitely seems like one of the highlights of the area. We didn't get chance to have anything to eat, but i'd love to come back and give it a try!

Thank Eddie R

In the short time since XVA Cafe has been open it has already been hailed as ‘Dubai’s best kept secret’. Many return to XVA Cafe for the food along – among the restaurant’s biggest fans Gordan Ramsay, who names XVA as his favourite café in Dubai. The café serves freshly-prepared vegetarian food including delicious salads, soups and sandwiches. For those with a sweet tooth there is an array of cooling ice creams, plus the legendary refreshing mint lemonade. This Cafe has been highly commended by Time Out Dubai for several years.

Staying in The Creek

Neighbourhood Profile
The Creek
The smell of frankincense hangs thick and heavy in the air, waves lap gently at jetties, and market traders call to passing tourists. The creek, originally the place where pearl boats docked and left on missions to uncover jewels from the deep, is where the city really began. The Al Fahidi District on the Creekside is one of the oldest heritage sites in Dubai, easily recognizable with its iconic wind towers, the original air conditioning. Home to the Sheikh Mohammed Centre for Cultural Understanding and the Dubai Museum, the old buildings also house a range of cafes, shops and art galleries. Often called “the real Dubai,” this is a wonderful place to lose yourself before catching an abra across the creek to the spice souk, where your senses will be overwhelmed with tastes, smells, and sounds.
