Amazing place and food. Very nice staff! Surely will come back there soon! Far away from the crowd to rest and eat very good.

Quiet and cool setting in a traditional house, a perfect place to stop while exploring the historic Bastakia quarter for a refreshment or meal. Friendly staff serving good coffee and wide range of appealing food options. Easy to find with map on the Main Street and close to Dubai museum bus stop. Thanks for the vote if you found this... A place to relax when wandering through Bastaquia district, an old part of town. A quite courtyard with ample shade, great coffee and drinks, very nice personell. And BEST FEATURE: an old gentleman artfully doing personalized kalligraphies, a great gift to take. Looking forward to going there again, to staying at the XVA hotel and to visit the gallery.

The chefs did a good job and the food was good in comparison to the price. The service on the other hand was pretty awful. We asked for advice between two dishes and the waiter understood it as we ordered both even though we clearly said we selected one of them. When we remarked this he suggested that we should... More

Located inside fascinating Al Fahidi (oldest part of Dubai, near Creekside) restored home, XVA is a treasure of tranquility, with really yummy food & beverages (non-alcohol only). Savvy internationals appreciate the unique setting and contrast to bustling malls & their crowds. Her tuna salad & my burgul salad w/tuna were artistry on a plate...and fairly priced. Their 'Famous Mint Lemonade'... More

Was recommended by a friend and well worth seeking out. After all the modernity of Dubai to find a secluded courtyard with 3 start food was perfect. Worth the trip to find it.

Description
In the short time since XVA Cafe has been open it has already been hailed as ‘Dubai’s best kept secret’. Many return to XVA Cafe for the food along – among the restaurant’s biggest fans Gordan Ramsay, who names XVA as his favourite café in Dubai. The café serves freshly-prepared vegetarian food including delicious salads, soups and sandwiches. For those with a sweet tooth there is an array of cooling ice creams, plus the legendary refreshing mint lemonade. This Cafe has been highly commended by Time Out Dubai for several years.

Staying in The Creek

Neighbourhood Profile
The Creek
The smell of frankincense hangs thick and heavy in the air, waves lap gently at jetties, and market traders call to passing tourists. The creek, originally the place where pearl boats docked and left on missions to uncover jewels from the deep, is where the city really began. The Al Fahidi District on the Creekside is one of the oldest heritage sites in Dubai, easily recognizable with its iconic wind towers, the original air conditioning. Home to the Sheikh Mohammed Centre for Cultural Understanding and the Dubai Museum, the old buildings also house a range of cafes, shops and art galleries. Often called “the real Dubai,” this is a wonderful place to lose yourself before catching an abra across the creek to the spice souk, where your senses will be overwhelmed with tastes, smells, and sounds.
