We have eaten here twice when in Dubai on cruises. We have brought groups of about 10-12 from the ship for a night out and all have loved it. The food is typical Middle Eastern, with welcoming drink of lemon tea (yummy, but no liquor) and fresh figs. The menu comes in a metal tube on a scroll. Lots of... More

Close to the creek this local restaurant is full of character as you can sit in a beautiful courtyard open to the stars with the locals being called to prayer at the mosque close by. Authentic food was fantastic and delightful fruit juice to accompany. Quiet unassuming and attentive service this was a delight. thank you.

Warm welcome and very good food, especially the mixed kebab. Price is reasonable. One of the best places in old Dubai.

It is a great place to be transported back to the old world charm of Dubai away from all the hustle & bustle of the city! Excellent food & a lot of variety for vegetarians.

Not very expensive, nice courtyard, local cuisine, but do not think too much of the quality. Good enough after you have visited Bastikaya.

We enjoyed our meal at Bastakiah Nights as we were getting hungry as we walked through the Al-Fahidi Historical Neighborhood. Bastakiah Nights was perfect. We had some fresh juices, bread and houmous, and a delicious meat platter. We ate in the courtyard on the ground floor but I sure the ambience at night on the roof would be really nice!... More

Staying in The Creek

Neighbourhood Profile
The Creek
The smell of frankincense hangs thick and heavy in the air, waves lap gently at jetties, and market traders call to passing tourists. The creek, originally the place where pearl boats docked and left on missions to uncover jewels from the deep, is where the city really began. The Al Fahidi District on the Creekside is one of the oldest heritage sites in Dubai, easily recognizable with its iconic wind towers, the original air conditioning. Home to the Sheikh Mohammed Centre for Cultural Understanding and the Dubai Museum, the old buildings also house a range of cafes, shops and art galleries. Often called “the real Dubai,” this is a wonderful place to lose yourself before catching an abra across the creek to the spice souk, where your senses will be overwhelmed with tastes, smells, and sounds.
