We had a great time in Luang Prabang! My family, 2 adults and 2 children, stayed at Sofitel for one week. This was our 3rd visit to LP. We had a very relaxing vacation and we’re so happy we stayed here! The staff members at...the front desk were helpful in assisting us with tuk- tuks to Ock Pop Tok or a van to the Laos Buffalo Dairy. We used the bikes to ride into downtown but it’s easy to walk many places, too. They helped direct me to the Morning Market one very early morning. The restaurant staff were so welcoming and picked up on what we enjoyed drinking and eating each morning for breakfast! They gave our kids carrots for the rabbits to eat out in the garden. The food was very good at breakfast, lunch and dinner! Our room was tidied up everyday and fresh towels and fresh water provided without having to ask. The pool is large and the giant garden area very beautiful, including a pond, hammock and two rabbits hopping around.More

We stayed at the hotel for 2 nights, and breakfasted daily. The food was delicious (especially the croissants!) and the staff were always professional, friendly and helpful. It’s a beautiful location, facing a well-landscaped courtyard complete with hammock and pool. Wonderful experience!!

We ate at the Governor's Grill during hour time at Luang Prabang and it was delicious! Staff were extremely friendly and helpful at all times. Food was delicious too. Creative use of flavour, fresh vegetables and vegetarian friendly. We also did a cooking class with...Chef Tony. It was a lot of fun, we went to O that market in the morning beforehand. Tony switched between English and Lao so seemlessly throughout the class that each group felt included. I really admire that skill. Thank you!More

Today my eight year old daughter and I joined a 3 hour cooking class with one of the gorgeous chefs, Pouky. She guided us through 4 dishes and was good humoured and patient with our questions and questionable knife skills! She was fantastic with my...daughter and encouraged us both to develop new skills in the kitchen. The class was held in a charming semi outdoor, purpose built, teaching kitchen. At the end of the class we sat down in the restaurant to enjoy the delicious lunch we had made. A perfect way to spend the morning in Luang Prabang.More

At 8.30 in the morning Chef Naly took us to the market in Luang Prabang to buy ingredients for our class. The market was colourful and vibrant and everyone was friendly and relaxed. Our cooking class was an exposure to various Lao dishes which we...prepared and ate for lunch - of course they were delicious! Chef Naly explained the local origins of the ingredients and their regional comparisons and took us through her own learning of how to cook. It was a total pleasure and we will be shopping for the ingredients back home in Europe to follow the recipes we learned from Chef Naly.More

Souk and company couldn't do any better in making guests feel at home in this open concept restaurant. The food is a nice mix of flavors and the banana blossom and chicken salad is a revelation.
