We went there for dinner, it was a quiet night, the whole restaurant only had occupied two tables, but I guess it wasn't high season yet, we order one Dubrovnik capon (castrated rooster) in an extremely delicious sauce based on a recipe from the 16th century's and one squid stuffed with chard and shrimps. It was delicious and portion is... More

Our Tours by Locals Guide, Tomislav Matana, introduced us to the owner and staff of Kopun and helped us with dining reservations for our dinner following a great day of walking through the narrow streets and pathways of Old Town Dubrovnik. Kopun literally means castrated rooster, and our chicken specialty that was served that evening was superb - tender, flavorful... More

Our Tours by Locals Guide, Tomislav Matana (the best GoT guide in the city and surreoundings) recommended Kopun for dinner following a walk around the wall, and we were very impressed. The owner and chef care about the details, and they made us feel like family. We enjoyed the house specialties, a delicious house wine (DRI) and homemade dessert that... More

My spouse and I enjoyed lunch at Kopun Restoran on a Saturday afternoon in late August 2016. We encountered Kopun during a walking tour of Old Town Dubrovnik. Kopun is located near the top of the monumental Baroque staircase that leads to Ruder Boskovic Square, where the Church of St. Ignatius of Loyola (Crkva sveti Ignacija) and the Jesuit College... We came here for dinner; the atmosphere is really nice: decoration is impeccable, it was calm (although not empty) and the servers were very professional. You could notice it's a high class restaurant. We ordered the rooster (their specialty) and another dish which were good but not superb (we expected a little bit more), especially if you consider that the... More

At a restaurant like this, no excuse to serve a burnt, inedible fish cake - looked and tasted like an old roof shingle. Other dishes were ok, although the roast lamb arrived tepid.

Actually, not at all - despite its name this restaurant runs the gamut with good fish, pasta and meat options as well as its poultry specialism. The starters and desserts are excellent to. I enjoyed the Dubrovnik take on macaroni, with 'messy' beef, and the splendid chocolate fondant pudding. And of course I had capon for my entree, and very... More

We truly enjoyed our meal at this eatery and loved the ambiance of sitting outside in a city square a bit off the main pedestrian thoroughfare. The seafood dishes were delicious - mussels and John Dory being particular standouts but the main reason we tried this restaurant was for the house speciality - capon. Capon is a type of rooster... Yes up a lot of stairs. I was disappointed with the prawn entree which I thought were vinegary and my wife thought had been frozen. However the proscuitto and cheese was good. The main meal of steak and vegs was very good as was the chesecake - the best dessert of our whole trip...
