We found Konoba Stare Grede by doing a search for restaurants closest to our latest apartment. We're really happy it is in our 'hood because the food is great and very reasonably priced for the quality and quantity. The decor has a nice family-run vibe to it and the service is friendly. I had the mixed grille which was way... More

Would recommend this place to anyone traveling abroad and local. It is very popular so make sure to make a reservation. Amazingly fresh seafood - the seafood platter for 2 is wonderful. The service was also the best we experienced, most other places the staff came across uninterested, the staff here were so friendly and helpful it was a welcome... More

Simple delicious food well located only 2blocks from Joker shopping complex. You know it's authentic when it does not have an English menu! Prompt casual service. Excellent fish (you must show them how to prepare rare Ahi--ask to go into the kitchen!). We had Ahi and Gnocci which was excellent. Seating is benches and tables from large oak slabs.

We are coming here for lunch break and really enjoy food and service and place. It can be crowded as place is very popular with locals. Service is fast and they always have already prepared meals and meals of the day I do recommend as you will get it faster then other lines from menu.

One of the guys at the reception desk at the Atrium Hotel suggested Stare Grede. It's fairly modest from the street view but like walking into a friendly kitchen once one entered. They have a surprisingly extensive menu. Lots of veal and seafood options to give a visitor a good sampling of local cuisine. And a great value.

The Atrium Hotel restaurant being reserved for a wedding party, the receptionist suggested this small restaurant about two hundred yards down the road, for dinner. I had the best fillet steak for years, cooked with an excellent mushroom sauce. The recommended wine was a fine glass of Croatian merlot. The atmosphere was congenial and the service excellent, at least until... More

Charming style, wood and stone, good service, and very, very large portions. I had gnocchi for a starter and it was big enough to be a main, followed by a mixed grill. The waiters were helpful with information about the Croatian wines. Not at all pricey either, all in all, a good bet.

Decent friendly service. Good home cooking. Nothing mind blowing but worth the walk from old town. Massive portions.
