If you have an opportunity to visit Izakaya you will not be disappointed. The service I received was fantastic, the staff were very attentive and helpful in explaining the menu and recommending dishes to complement. The quality and flavours in my dishes were flawless. I think the tenderloin was possibly some of the best beef I have ever eaten, cooked... More

We ate here on our last night in Antigua, and were comforted by the welcoming hosts and personalized service. The menu is small but the selections of vegetables, seafood and beef are expertly prepared in a Japanese style unlike any place in the city. The owners/chefs take grest care in preparing and serving the food.

We would be very lucky if every restaurant owner/chef/cook had the passion this people have for what they do in the kitchen and the way they do it. They have already a long experience in their business and you can tell their put their best into their business. You can not frame this place into the "regular", the "normal" or... More

Izakaya is well-located near the central square. A very comfortable space with a warm feeling. If you wish you can sit at the bar and watch your dinner be prepared. All the ingredients are of the highest quality, which is particularly important for beef in Guatemala (it can be tough). We shared an eggplant ap; for my entree I had... More

Good food. Not much variety but everything is very good. Starting with the soup and the carpatio. The wkewers are very good and so were the spareribs. Very tasty and excellent service.

Only six tables, but nor cramped. We sat in the dining room be the window overlooking the traffic on the street. Food is cooked on an open wood charcoal fire. We had the chicken skewers, ceviche, won tons, and something else I forget. All was very good. Wine was decent as was the mojito. Great place to go if you... More

We really enjoyed the food here. The steak was honestly out of this world. The eggplant is also very delicious. Good mix of locals, expats, and tourists.

Thank Kate S

Izakaya is a Japanese Sake Establishment which also serves food to accompany the drinks. Enticing Oriental Appetizers with a tropical twist, creating a fusion between guatemalan and asian flavors. Fine cuisine prepared in an open kitchen, by reknown chefs with an international trajectory, which includes Nobu, Zuma & Gordon Ramsay in London. Cozy atmosphere and great music.
