Easily one of the best coffee places we found in Antigua if not in whole Guatemala. If you are looking for Italian coffee specialties ... head there, you won't be disappointed!

I visited El Refugio after having lunch, so that I could have a latte while working on my Spanish homework. The barista was very kind as soon as I walked into the little coffee shop. I ordered a mocha with lactose free milk, and he made it both beautiful and delicious! :) It's a small coffee shop, but it has... More

The Refuge is a place I discovered during my last visit in Antigua a year ago and it has everything you could expect from a laid back little coffee shop. They roast local coffee in their little shop and it smells heavenly. The prices are reasonable for a high quality coffe - 15Q for a cappuccino or 12Q for an... More

Excellent and Perfect coffee! Friendly barista. Little food in order not to distract from the coffee.

If you appreciate good coffee then this is the place to go. I had a cappuccino and was very tempted to order a second cup. I highly recommend this place. You can't go wrong with fresh coffee roasted on site.

This is the place to come if you want simple coffee (i.e. no flavors) and that is about it. There is no food or pastries. As their saying goes, "coffee is all we do". I got a mocha and it was nice and strong and decent price. The cafe however is lacking in appearance and cleanliness. There is very old... More

Staying about a 6 weeks in Antigua taking Spanish lessons - found this place the first day we were here. We come back every day for a great cup of coffee before heading to class. The coffee is great and the baristas are very friendly and tolerate of our poor Spanish skills. Highly recommended!
