I disagree with these unhappy reviews. I've eaten here several times and the food was delicious. The atmosphere is very comfortable for as a solitary diner or with company. Parking is easy. Staff are very relaxed and friendly. Prices are what you'd expect. Free bus stops right in front of it.

We used to come here regularly about ten years ago and thought a meal here would be good for old time's sake. Wrong. The two dishes we ordered were clumsily prepared and almost gross. My husband ordered Squid stir fry with vegetables and hot sauce. It came on top of a buried mound of rice and some rice noodles. Not... More

This is our first time to the Amherst area, and we were feeling like some good Asian food. We found House of Teriyaki. The place itself is nice and cozy. It was busy, even though the colleges in the area are on summer break. They have a good selection of Japanese sushi and sashimi. I tried one of their special... More

I visited the restaurant after several years absence. I found it disheveled looking and the food was really less than satisfactory.

I've been going here sporadically for the last 13 years. I've tried about half of the menu and have never been let down. I hadn't had the chance to go back to HOT for almost 5 years, so I was excited to go there again for a lunch special last week with my girlfriend. We started by sharing a tofu... More

Across the street from the Black Walnut Inn, we visited there one night when we needed to eat early to attend a concert. The food was tasty, the sushi great quality and the prices very reasonable. Very personable servers and in and out quickly, which was exactly what we needed.

Made our first trip to the House of Teriyaki and were not dissapointed. Was a great place to have a cozy dinner and enjoy time togethor and the great food. Our servers were all very personable and provided attentive service. We had the fried dumblings and egg rolls as appetizers both of which were very good. The dressing on the... More

It was spring break, most students were gone, so there was only a short wait for a table. While most people seemed to be ordering sushi, we opted for set meals with the usual Japanese soups and side dishes, and Korean bulgogi as the main course. A nice mix, fresh, tasty, though we could have eaten more rice...we're used to... More

Came for dinner and were underwhelmed by the quality of the food. Overall it was not tasty, and one of the meals was only lukewarm. We ordered a few small extras and found that the overall bill for a dinner for 4 was quite high. The service was fine, but the place does have a run-down feeling to it. Nothing... More
