After walking around the Summit I decided to check out this place on top of the Mountain. As the name describes it is a lodge with restrooms, sitting area, information, and a decent place to eat. You have some nice views if you sit by the windows. The service is ok and so is the food. Prices is on par... More

That is not to say that it isn't worth the trip. The views from the summit of Mt. Greylock, where the Lodge is located, are spectacular. The atmosphere is warm and friendly, the fire is roaring in cold weather in the big stone fireplace. Beams are hand hewn, and the beer selection is good. Unfortunately, the food is only so-so.... Bascom Lodge has something no other restaurant in the area can boast of. A view from the top of Mt. Greylock makes even a hot dog feel substantial and nutritious . The food (burgers and hot dogs in our case) was very good, if over-priced. But the truly rustic atmosphere is the reason to go.

The person taking the order forgot my wife's order. The hamburger was overcooked. Lentil soup very hot but had a lot of mushy vegetables. Don't eat here if uyou expect a higher quality lunch.

Quite expensive, with seating at shared tables, but the food was very good, although the choices are severely limited.

We came to hike a couple of miles on the Appalachian and decided to hang out for lunch afterward. We both ordered the grilled gruyere (mine with bacon), which came with a bit of potato salad and coleslaw. We were a little disappointed in the amounts of sandwich cheese and salads, but the sandwich was otherwise good and the salads... More

Shared seating. Well-prepared meals. The night we were there five entrees were available, one a vegetarian. Prix fixe options included a salad and dessert.

We got the private room which includes a private shower but shared bathroom. There is no TV and very limited Internet. The view was amazing!! There are adjacent group rooms for thru hikers but privacy is never an issue. Free coffee and home made muffins for breakfast. The lodge has a quaint, romantic feel to it. Great place to stay... About 10 of us use the lodge for long weekend in June and September to setup, operate and teardown a major ham radio contest operation. We stay in one of the bunk rooms and eat in the lodge. The lodge is a classic 1930 stone and timber lodge, built to survive the mountain location. The dinner restaurant serves the best... More

My Husband and I stayed overnight to celebrate our anniversary and it was just amazing! The atmosphere and the staff of Bascom Lodge were all soon kind! Upon arrival we checked in with Phil who was the sweetest gentleman ever! The wine and beer social was soo relaxing by the fire listening to some live music.. Just an awesome time... More
