Just prior to Good Friday the Village came in third in the chowder competition. I have not seen people having to wait since the Village reopened until Good Friday. We intentionally arrived early for dinner. We placed our order and thirty minutes later the waitress returned to tell us they only had two cups of fish chowder left, we had... More

This used to be one of our favorite places while in town. Steak was chewy, seafood we found very greasy. Way overpriced. Will not go bsck ahain. Service suffered also. Our server was not pleasant, and we had to keep asking for items over and over, drink refills, etc.

Portions are huge and staff is excellent. The menu has a variety of choices if you don't want seafood, but if you do your in for a treat.

Had a lobster dinner and some steamers. They were fine. Steamers had a lot of sand but I was thrilled to eat them, so I just envisioned I was at the beach eating them. Lobster was a 1.5 lb - it was nice. They had a 2.5 as well- WHAT! Mashed potatoes were awesome dipped in the butter from the... More

Both of us had broiled haddock. The haddock was fresh and perfectly broiled. Both the baked potato and vegetable were good. Had to wait a few minutes for a table but the locals ahead of us told us how good the food was and they were right.

Twenty years back and you would stand in line for an hour. Today, walk in, sit down, order. If you judge on quantity it is 4 star, based on quality it 2 to 2 1/2 star. Little tired inside but owners and staff truly care. Seafood in LA is not what it used to be and if that's your hankering... More
