While discussing restaurants with our guide, we were informed that Panama City has had a Chinese population for 150 years. We asked if there were any good Chinese restaurants as there are none where we live in Florida. He suggested Golden Unicorn. It looked like a typical Chinese restaurant from the 1969's or 1970's. about half of the patrons were... More

This came highly recommended and was packed with local Chinese, which is usually a good sign, but judging from the quality of the food, the locals aren't fussy. In London, the cooking would be at the lower end of Chinatown, at the 'all you can eat for ten pounds ($12) level, with poor hygiene and uncleaned prawns, half of which... More

After 2 weeks in Central America we were just gagging for some decent Chinese food and this place simply hit the spot; just what we wanted - some dimsum and some main dishes. Not much English spoken, but no matter - menu was bilingual, and food came promptly. Best dish was ma po tofu. Simple decor, a bit dated, but... More

It's simply delicious. We went there on a Tuesday for brunch and a wide variety of dim sum was available. All of them were so tasty and perfectly made.

This was one of the best Chinese restaurants in Panama City. I have to say it has gone down. We were there last Thursday, and ordered sweet and sour pork (very hard pieces); the fried rice was tasteless and the Peking duck (one half duck for 2) was OK, but the duck was quite dry. Soup was very salty. I... More

It's a wonderful place for a chinese breakfast or dinner. They offer the dim sum style with delicious dishes as well for the dinner. It's an amazing experience to find a place like this; clean, delicious and good style.

I think the Dim Sam at the Golden Unicorn is only second to the one in Lung Fung. It is a very spacious place and has some very nice views. I totally recommend it.

Greatly disappointed! Was hoping for some fantastic Asian flavor and did not receive it. Had the shrimp dumplings - average. Corvina with corn sauce - good. Langostinos (fried) - good. Chicken with garlic slices - poor (chicken had tremendous amount of fat under skin, gross amount). Service was very good but don't plan to return.

This is ok Chinese food. I went twice and once it was fresh and good, another time it was tasteless and overcooked. It is accessed through a parking garage--a bizarre thing for a tourist walking it. One person spoke English. I really could not tell if it was clean. Some staff and managers seem to be less concerned with hygiene... More

I was very disappointed with the food. The flavor of Fish with vegetables is all right, but the fish fillet was chewy like rubber. Duck with soft noodle was very oily. Don't recommend at all.
