I wanted to see what real traditional local food was like so my counterpart in our company's operations in Managua suggested this place. He ordered what he thought to be examples of the "real thing" and it was simpler food that clearly takes advantage of local resources. One might think of this as local peasant food which is just what... More

If you are sick and tired of the usual Churrasco, fries, chimmi chiuri and plantains, though they have this on the menu (and its excellent) this place is fantastic. Traditional breakfast, lunch and dinner served in a clean and tranquil surrounding. The breakfast of PROPERLY cooked eggs, chorizo and fresh pressed tortillas was great. The traditional Nicaraguan weekend treat of... More

It's difficult to find good local food in big cities all over the world. This came as a recommendation from the posada owner where we stayed(also highly recommend San Agustin Hostal...not a hostal and great value!). Great meal and wonderful outdoor seating with like local musician.

When several times, and I always enjoyed the food; my favorite is the tortilla soup. Also, it's a bit hidden, so you get to relax from all the noise from the city.

It is one of the most famous restaurants in town, and the food is great, and it is definitely a part of the tour in Managua

The restaurant has a large seating area which is nice if you have a big group, and they have a lot of traditional Nicaragua foods, if you want to try, but I don't think they are the best Nicaragua has. I had the "Indio Viejo" dish and I did not like it at all. It was like baby food. Other... More

If you want to taste original Nicaraguan FOOD and enjoy live music this is the the place to go. Ask for daily lunch special and remember in Nicaragua a soup is a full meal.

A local Nicaraguan dinner. Nothing special, the steaks were "okay" my pan fried pork cutlet was overdone. Nice for a visit to typical country cuisine but don't go out of you way.

group meal -- most of us had combo platter of local dishes. more than ample portions, well cooked. I had 'cold cocoa' drink: not quite chocolate milk, but not 'cold' hot chocolate either... atmosphere quiet and relaxing; a bit away from downtown area.
