Tripadvisor’s approach to reviews
Before posting, each Tripadvisor review goes through an automated tracking system, which collects information, answering the following questions: how, what, where and when. If the system detects something that potentially contradicts our community guidelines, the review is not published.
When the system detects a problem, a review may be automatically rejected, sent to the reviewer for validation, or manually reviewed by our team of content specialists, who work 24/7 to maintain the quality of the reviews on our site.
Our team checks each review posted on the site disputed by our community as not meeting our community guidelines.

It was an amazing Tuesday evening. I was trustworthy regarding this place. Location is somewhere close to exit of Bucharest. But I was completely amazed about the food. We had a mushroom soup, entrecote, duck, cheese, desert and a bottle of red wine. I taste all of these dishes. All of them was absolutely divine as taste and texture. Also bread was fresh made and tasty. For sure I will be back to taste the rest of menu. BRAVO!!!

A truly incredible restaurant. Food and ambiance was amazing, service was excellent too. You have to try to find a flaw (maybe the lack of natural light). Price to quality ratio is good. I recommend it

A truly amazing french restaurant in Bucharest.
The food was great, and was very well presented by the restaurant maitre’d!
We had a very good and tasty in-house made bread, with a himalayan salted butter with safron, on the house.
We had an amazing entree. You must taste the terrine de mangaliță and foie gras. It is an amazing combination. The cheese selection, is, for the connossieur, a delight. It goes well with a glass of white wine
Afterwards, my wife had the fish of the day with parsnip piuree, and i had the calf rib with celery piuree and amaretto.
Delightful food.
The desert was brought to the table by Chef Thomas himself, and explained how the desert was made.
The restaurant is very intimate, and a must visit if you are a foodie, or just want to have a wonderful dinner.
We thank Chef Thomas for the amazing food, and the maitre’d for the service.

Genuine French restaurant in a surprising area of Bucharest (not touristic at all), the place is a very pleasant surprise; a real French Chef, Thomas Parnaud, is reinterpreting some Romanian dishes as well as genuine French ones, using mainly local farmer-grown products.
The place is very friendly, the service is very good and the menu is exacly what you'd expect in a good restaurant: a dozen of dishes covering the main preferences, great deserts and a relevant wine list.
Enjoy, I did!

We went there for lunch on a Saturday; besides us there was only another table with 2 small children.
First of all, the restaurant looks very good; I especially enjoyed the diffused light and black and white photos on the walls.
Afterwards, Chef Thomas Parnaud greeted our table, explaining the freshness of the ingredients, his menu and his vision for each course!
Delicious complimentary entree - hot homemade bread & flavoured butter and beetroot salad.
The main courses - candied mangalita (pork) with onion compote, creamy polenta with truffle oil, mangalita terran and foie gras, Paris mushroom chips and aromayic herbs.
Dessert: Le Royale de Chocolat and another one, with pear and meringue (I cannot remember the name).
We can hardly wait to go back to dinner, in a special atmosphere and jazz music.

Unexpected fine dining in a remote and a bit gloomy area of Bucharest. It is the most exquisite dinner I've ever had in Bucharest although I didn't liked the restaurant. It looks rather odd and the lights are not suitable for a restaurant (they are greenish and you can't see properly what's on your plate).
Looking forward tasting also the spring menu of the remarkable chef Thomas Parnaud.

Sometime late November I got this "spam" email about the re-opening of La Cave. I usually move this kind of unsolicited advertising to Trash; for some reason I read it. Maybe it was because of the upcoming Christmas spirit.
It turned out that it was one of the good choices I made recently.
Yesterday a friend from Budapest called me, saying he would be in Bucharest today, so I said let's have dinner together. Where? He asked. I said: we'll go to a place I do not know, but which seems interesting.
So I made a reservation at La Cave de Bucarest. Not actually necessary, as the place was not exactly crowded. From the experience we had, it should be! Chef Thomas greeted and unobtrusively guided us through a great dining experience (definitely the best in Romania, so far).
Thomas could best be described as a culinary missionary. He brings Michelin-stars food to the reach of normal, less-than-affluent, people. His creations, while deeply rooted in his French origin and savoir-faire, come with a pinch of Romanian influence. Which makes his outstanding dishes "understandable", and as importantly, affordable to the working class environment the restaurant is -alas- located.
This place should be crammed all day long. The food (and then the dessert!!!) and the jazz playing at just the right volume make this a truly memorable experience. Chapeau, Chef!

Wonderful experience, nice atmosphere, relaxing jazz music & very good prices
The restaurant has an artistic & elegant interior design, the service is good and the staff is friendly and helpful, it's a good choice for a fine dining.
Meet the Chef - this is great : Chef Thomas Parnaud is greeting every table, explaining the freshness of the ingredients, his menu and his vision for each course!
Delicious complimentary entree - bread & flavoured butter
The main course - mangalitsa & a creamy polenta this is like a rainbow in your mouth.
Also tried an amazing mackerel with a fresh touch.
Splendid desserts : Le Royale - dream come true for a chocolate lover!!!
Vacherin - God / Chef Thomas / French, thanks for this sublime & fresh flavour
Each course is so unique : taste, colors & texture. And the presentation ? The work of an Artist : Chapeau, Chef!
