This restaurant is classic Bulgarian. Once you enter the cellars you know you are in for a "beer hall" type of evening. The plates were large and the food oh so tasty. Soup in a bread bowl was delicious. I ordered the broccoli with blue cheese sauce because I wasn't getting enough vegetables! Mmmmm. The Lamb Dish with Kevin's and... More

Place was really nice and staff friendly. The food was absolutely delicious and generous. We ordered the beef meat platter for 4 which was great. My vegan friend also found a few delicious options to eat.

This came recommended and didn't disappoint. The food was good and plentiful, served on wooden plates- very quirky. Don't expect fine dining but do expect a good time

We went here with some trepidation. We are not fond of theme restaurants for Tourists. In fact we would prefer to go where no Tourists go..... even if no one speaks our language as long as the food is good. This restaurant may attract some Tourists; we don't care because this is one excellent restaurant. If we lived here we... More

Food is tasty. They offer big plates of meat to share if you are with the group. It's worth it. Prices are not going to kill You. You have terrace there. Inside of the restaurant looks like traditional Bulgarian village house. I give only 4 because they didn't serve any good traditional bewe but they should. A waiter that served... More

A large and varied menu, there is something for everyone (providing you like meat) - we chose the King's shashlik, which unsurprisingly was more than enough for two people. Fortunately the quality was not sacrificed for the quantity as the food was delicious. The service could perhaps have been a little quicker but we were enjoying our unusual surroundings. Highly... I eat almost everyday in this restaurant - they update their lunch menu each day. The service is fast and you can enjoy some really well cooked tradituonal meals for a cheap price. The restaurant is decorated in typicall Bulgarian style and there is always some folklore music in the background. Overall I noticed a lot of foreigners dinning at... More

The food was quite good. I had a shopska salad and a mushroom bread bowl soup which both were quote good. I think what made it for me was the atmosphere though. The whole restaurant had an amazing old school folk feel. The restaurant was recommended to me by my local Bulgarian friend and I'd highly recommend sitting out in... More

The Restaurant Hadjidraganovite Izbi that means "Hadjidraganov's Cellars" offers Bulgarian national cuisine on fire, on a hot plate and in an oven. Situated in the center of Sofia restaurant exposes unique atmosphere of an old cellar - all hand-maded. A band of one of the best Bulgarian folklore musicians is playing folklore music in the nights!

Legend of Hadjidraganov's Cellars!

"In 1866 a century ago Hadji Dragan, a trader of wool and silk lived in Sofia and four great houses built. Each with a style from different region of Bulgaria (Melnik, Koprivshtitza, Zheravna, Bansko). Now it's a famous restaurant "Hadjidraganov's Houses". In his famous cellars there was wine from vineyards all over the country. Only few were people entered into the Hadjidraganov's Cellars. While entering inside, silence, a smell of old barrels and a coolness met the special guests. Barrels ordered in long lines could be seen in twilight of kerosene lamps. Selected bottles lay in straw in wine racks."

Now the Restaurant Hadjidraganov's Cellars welcomes you with it's traditional bulgarian food cooked on fire, hot plate and in an oven. You can choose a wine from different regions all over Bulgaria.
