Arrived at 130pm. Ordered the food 15 minutes later. The food Arrived nearly at 3pm. The food was good. The staff were correct but talked to much in the hall among themselves not seeing when they were called upon. a little overpriced in my opinion considering you have to order side dishes apart (most restaurants include in main course the... We had a great meal here. The service was friendly and efficient. My 'cowboy' steak was huge, and my wife's salmon was excellent too. Prices are fairly high, but overall well worth a visit. Remember to pay by foreign credit card to get an immediate 18% discount off your bill !

Service in MVD is lacking, but La Casa Violeta is a welcome exception. The meat is fantastic, cooked perfectly and the wine is reasonably priced. Salad bar is ok, the real star is the meat. Q colleague also had a really delicious ravioli.

Very nice location and great views, especially at sunset. The personnel is "kinda" friendly. Not like you experience around the regular restaurants in MvD. We ordered a nice bottle of local red wine and it was not in stock. They offered another one, which was good and even a little less expensive. We ordered Cowboy steak, filet Mignon and a... More

This restaurant is very nice and somewhat expensive. However, the entire meal from the wine list to the desserts delivered an amazing meal. The restaurant overlooks the water, so ask for a table near the window.

We paid $300 USD for what was supposed to be a fabulous New Year's dinner--it was a disaster. They really don't know what they are doing and yet they are charging US prices (and insisted on our paying cash in US dollars). To wait over 2 hours for dinner to arrive once you have ordered is despicable. Really? Two hours... More

This restaurant was recommended by a local colleague who lives in Montevideo as one of the best steak restaurants in the city. We were not disappointed. The steaks were cooked precisely as requested and were delicious. The sides including a potato au gratin style cake were wonderful. The wine offering was broad and great and the bottle of Gimenez Mendez... More
