Tripadvisor’s approach to reviews
Before posting, each Tripadvisor review goes through an automated tracking system, which collects information, answering the following questions: how, what, where and when. If the system detects something that potentially contradicts our community guidelines, the review is not published.
When the system detects a problem, a review may be automatically rejected, sent to the reviewer for validation, or manually reviewed by our team of content specialists, who work 24/7 to maintain the quality of the reviews on our site.
Our team checks each review posted on the site disputed by our community as not meeting our community guidelines.

I posted this same review on Google, but it deserves to be in two places. The food was delicious. This is one of those rare places that is both a fantastic meal and an experience. Eduardo is the chef and owner, and he made sure that we were comfortable and taken care of. This restaurant is his passion, and he wants to share that with people. He made us two fantastic dishes, one was a miso and mushroom curry, which had an unbelievably umami flavor, and another was a tajine, with a special tomato curry sauce. He put his flare in everything and it was delicious. We also had a fantastic starter of crispy eggplant, warm shrimp ceviche, and a desert of homemade key lime pie. The man is an artist and this place should not be missed. Eduardo is very welcoming, extremely interesting, and will sit and chat with you if you're open with that. You should be, he has great stories and has lived a very interesting life. All in all this experience was a complete pleasure.

This is the best Restaurant in the Urubamba valley . A mix of oriental and Peruvian food. Delicious! An extraordinary experience

This was our first lunch in town and my god did he set the bar hiiiigh, u should definitely try this place at least once. The warm Shrimp ceviche was amazing , I could have eaten bowls of it , his love for the places he has been, experienced really translates in his Asian/Peruvian fusion, the Cajun/Thai/Peruvian Shrimp was just something I'll remember forever and I will ask from other chefs and they will probably look at me funny. My Peruvian/Curry trout fingerlicking goood. Eduardo (Chef /Owner) is one cool Chef , he sits with u at the table talks about his food and he is really the "best Menu" u can have . He cooks with heart, passion and also efficient (didn't have to wait long, but then again his little corner of heaven makes the wait seem short) . He is so chill Gordon Ramsey would loooooose his freaking mind 😂 and the result can keep up with him any day. Thanks for the introduction in your world Eduardo.

I had a very enjoyable lunch at Kampu. Laura was a fabulous host! The food was good. We ordered a Peruvian dish and a Morrocan curry. The Peruvian dish with shrimp in a yellow sauce, of which I forgot the name, was amazing. The Morrocan dish was just alright, maybe because I have very high standards of Arab cuisine. The lemonade with ginger was fantastic. However it was quite a different experience from other reviewers described. Maybe it was because the chef Eduardo was out of town? There was actually a menu. Many reviewers mentioned there was no menu and it was all based on the chef's recommendation. Nevertheless it was still one of my best meals in Cusco and the Sacred Valley.

Incredible restaurant and atmosphere. The trout sashimi and mushroom appetizers were out of this world.

We discovered this jewel of restaurant and we’re so glad we did. Laura, the owner was so nice and recommended three delicious dishes. Her service was excellent. We meant to return for dinner but it was closed. Kudos to Laura!

Wonderful experience in the Sacred Valley. The food and cocktails were so good - especially the trout tiradito and the prawn curry!! We really enjoyed how the chef explained everything that went into each dish.

This place is a hidden gem and definitely worthy of a visit! When you first walk in it’s a beautiful outdoor area, with seating inside/outside! A very peaceful happy vibe..even before eating! Lara, our server was amazing and so friendly! Then you meet Chef/Food Artist Extraordinaire Eduardo! He comes out and explains how he has no set menu and asks us to trust that he will make food for us based on what he’s feeling! Just say “YES” to this and trust the man and his process! He will not steer you wrong! Everything was delicious! He also took into account our dietary needs (vegan, Gluten Free)! Everything is fresh and made with love! And the man himself is like is food..bigger than life and full of positive energy! I highly recommend this restaurant!! It’s a total experience and you leave feeling happy and full!

Kampu is, without doubt, one of the best restaurants I have ever experienced. I cannot recommend this place highly enough. There is nothing polished or refined about this establishment but that is exactly the reason why it's a gem. It is fueled by extreme passion for what is presented on the plate and little else. Something that a great many restaurants miss completely. I feel very lucky to admit that due to working internationally for most of my adult life, I've tried pretty much everything from incredible street food in the back streets of Delhi to the freshest seafood caught by 90 year old female free divers on the shores of Pusan to elite secret dining in Paris. Amazing moments in my life with good company and food to die for. Whenever I visit the Sacred Valley, I always make a rapid reservation at Kampu and head straight for Urubamba. Unfortunately, there are plenty of banal diners out there that only enjoy highly polished, tasteless show food and uninspiring show restaurants. These people simply do not understand a place like Kampu and really should go elsewhere to get out of the way of diners with a sense of culture and authenticity. If you are searching for a genuine, delicious, surprising, real dining experience then Kampu is the place to go. Eduardo is a master chef. A passionate Artist who has travelled the world and lives for creating original, tasty, inventive dishes. He is uncompromising in his love for cooking. Kampu is no frills, humble and straight to the point. If you want to eat well, love every mouthful and be unconcerned about the quality of the seat under your ass, Kampu is worth every penny and worth every effort you make to get there. Please do yourself and Eduardo a huge service and disregard the haters. They really just don't get it and are better off elsewhere. Provecho!

I’ve lived in Urubamba for well over a year, and I can’t go three weeks without paying Eduardo and Laura a visit! You get addicted to their energy and amazing food. Eduardo is not a chef, he’s a artist that uses food to express his creativity. If you pass by Urubamba, it’s a must stop! Best restaurant in the sacred valley.

Eduardo ia always very kind and lovely. I went with my boyfriend and a couple of friends. I am vegan, they are not. Eduardo prepared me an amazing curry with a peanut paste and veggies. My friends had another curry, tagine and lomo saltado (beef) with potatoes. Everyone loved their plates, and the lomo was voted the best by all of them. We were all very happy! Thanks to Eduardo and Laura for the great service!

I have visited Kampu several times, and I am never disappointed. The food is remarkable, it’s quality and flavors always hit the spot. I especially love the curries. And Laura and Eduardo are super attentive and make you feel like your part of the family. I definitely suggest that if you find yourself in the sacred valley that you stop into Urubamba and visit Kampu it’s a great place to visit with friends and family.
