Visited May 2019 With reservations we arrived before opening. In a dark neighborhood, it was a bit difficult to discern the exact location. Once we entered it was a welcoming atmosphere with some fascinating sightlines into the kitchen. The dinner was fantastic, with plenty of...smaller courses exploring Peru's regions. Dessert (5 courses!) and the cocktails were a great highlight. The service was a bit impersonal and staff varied over the course of our meal. Regardless, the fascinating blend of Japanese and Peruvian cuisine was great and made for a delicious night. One of us was vegetarian and was equally impressed.More

This place is not really bad - NOT ugly atmosphere, NOT bad quality food, NOT overpriced... But nothing great as well. As far as it is positioned as a gastronomic restaurant for special occasions, you expect smth more than very ordinary food, badly packed wine...list and dying plants on the walls, responsible for the atmosphere. The place really lacks the most important component - good food. It's not very expensive - but probably its better to pay more in the other place, book earlier in advance and avoid waisting time. The greatest surprise about it is its considerably high rating.More

IK ruined my last night in Peru! I wanted to try some of Lima's famed high-end cuisine, and from the list of Central, Gaston y Astrid, Rafael and IK, I went with new kid on the block, IK. BIG MISTAKE! I booked a reservation for...7pm on August 23, 2019, three weeks in advance, using their online reservation system. I received several email reminders. On Aug 22, at approximately 6am, they sent an email that said it was confirming my reservation. A very small, and hard to see, button at bottom of the email said to click to confirm. At approximately 6pm on Aug 22, I received an email saying my reservation was cancelled because I had not confirmed. Regardless, I did not see either of these two emails until the morning of Aug 23. I was travelling on Aug 22 and did not have email access. A 12-hour window to confirm a reservation the day before the reservation is inappropriate. Not everyone is glued to their email! When I arrived in Lima the morning of Aug 23 I asked the concierge at my hotel to call IK to see if he could get the reservation back. He discovered that the restaurant was closed for a prolonged period and would re-open sometime in September. By then it was too late to book at Central, Gaston y Astrid or Rafael. Worse, I had to phone my credit card company to ensure I was not charged the the s/200 cancellation fee. If IK was closing down for an extended period it could have had the courtesy to send an email to those of us with reservations so we could make alternative arrangements. Anything less is just rude and disrespectful.More

Title says it all. Showed up for a 7:30 reservation and the placed was dark and shut tight. Foul ending to a Terri cub vacation.

We made a reservation on 17/07/2019 for today, 20/08/2019. We were excited to eat in this restaurant. We received a confirm of the reservation by email the day before but surprise...when we arrive at the restaurant was CLOSED without any notice. With us there was...other persons in the same situations outside the restaurant. :(More

Great place to experience the Peruvian cuisine with a contemporary twist. Do not miss the scallops and (if you like it) the alcapa tartare. Service is very good and the young chef very nice.

IK used to be an outstanding restaurant... that was like 2 or 3 years ago. Now the service is terrible and the food is below average. Even the menu looks dated and sad. The dishes have changed and the few that remain from its original...menu are now completely unrecognizable, cooked with no technique or love. They used to have the best dish in town: Chita 190 degrees. A sublime dish that now is just a piece of oily fried fish. It seems that there's no direction in the kitchen, no innovation, no drive. A shame and disappointment.More

Food tasted good, was presented and prepared well. in a restaurant of this class, one should have English speaking servers as that affects customer's ability to order food. Also, at the end of the dining, we were sort of tricked into tipping by the host.

There are 3 essential elements which justify the expense of fine dining: ambiance, food/ beverage and service. When these elements are harmonically balanced the experience is a pleasantly memorable one, if not its a bitter one chronicled by your receipt. Unfortunately, ours (my wife and...adult daughter) following a magical Machu Picchu experience, fell into the latter category. The menu is extremely limited (normally 7 starters and 7 main plates) and 2 choices of each were unavailable on Saturday at 7:30pm. Despite Lonely Planet's extensive assertion, the wine list is 2 pages: one page each for white and red. It was also mislabeled leading the waiter to initially assert that all the white wines were available by the glass, then reassert that only the reds were available by the glass, only to be corrected by the "sommelier" who stated that only the Peruvian reds were available by the glass. We settled for a bottle of rose prosecco (surprisingly good) and a Argentinian meritage (not). We had to serve ourselves the wines throughout the night due to inattentive wait staff. The starters and dessert were delicious but 2 of 3 main plates were plebian.More

Excelent restaurant and very well priced. The Ik experience is 10 course and is more than enought for a dinner. Staff very professional and kind.
