My friend and I are vegetarians, and this was our first visit to Lima. We stumbled across Saqra on Trip advisor, and went there for dinner. OMG. AMAZING AMAZING AMAZING FOOD. We had the Portobello anticuchos and peruvian corn pepián and the Mushroom Ceviche. Both were so flavorful, and so filling. WE lOVED it. This is where we had our... More

My husband & I loved the food, it was our first dining experience in Lima that was recommended to us. The quality of the food was excellent coupled with great service which friendly and efficient. The garlic prawns entree was too die for.

I'm sorry to say that Trip Advisor's rankings are something inflated by bus tours' worth of people coming to a place. That seems the case here. The food is fine. The service is friendly (but slow). The atmosphere is ok. It's just not one of Lima's best and to see it in the 20's ranking alongside places like Rafael is... More

I went to Saqra with my husband and 3 daughters (aged 22, 20 and 12). We had the ceviche for starters (both the seafood and mushroom) and it was the best we had during our whole stay in Peru. Between us we had the swordfish, the lomo saltado and the pepper steak for mains and all the dishes were out... More

Hello Monterey_Goods, We appreciate your review. I see you had our lomo saltado and the pepper steak. For the lomo saltado, we follow the traditional recipe. For the pepper steak we use molle (pink pepper), which is sweeter than the regular black pepper. Have a nice day, Joaquín de la Piedra SAQRA More

The wait staff was friendly, very helpful, and solicitous. The soup was delicious. The pasta dishes a little too rich. The Bonita fish dish was interesting but the fish was over cooked.

The Pisco Sours are strong but flavorful. My wife and I just had one each and we were very good! We ordered the civiche for an appetizer, which was really good. The fish is served with sweet potatoes and corn marinating in lemon juice with some thinly sliced onions on top. The flavors work well when eat all together, the... More

Short walk from our hotel in a very trendy alley with nice shops and cafes. The restaurant itself had a nice décor and atmosphere. Probably the best service we've had. Great waitress who spoke very good English and made great recommendations. We had a great dinner on our last night in Lima and would recommend this restaurant to anyone. Reasonable... More

Saqra has the good service that is a hallmark of Peruvian restaurants. The menu offered a wide range of options. I started with ceviche de pescado. My main was the ossobuco, which was heavenly. My caramelo 'salt and pepper' dessert was a refreshing finish to my meal. Our waitress was helpful and friendly. This made our experience even more enjoyable.... More

I would have given excellent mark if we were not seated hastily in the middle of the main floor, after I pointed for a cozy window table. I was told, it is reserved! Did not I reserve? I had Estelar Miraflores Hotel maitre-die call hours before to make sure it is done! Nobody came for two hours to that table!... More

Description
Saqra, from the Quechua language meaning “little devil”, “naughty” or “mischief maker”. Saqra also refers to one of the characters found in the festival of the Madonna of Carmen in the village of Paucartambo, Cusco. Here, this happy little devil wins the heart of the Madonna with his childish pranks and mischief making as he dances around her playfully in the procession. These ideas inspired the creation of Saqra as a restaurant bar that offers modern Peruvian food where we reinterpret the Peruvian identity in a playful and contemporary key, conjuring up fun and colourful results. Saqra, in essence, is not really a place but a state of mind where this little devil plays a delightful host who wants that all his guests live a unique experience, where they meet again with their the inner child, sometimes long lost.
