The food was good and plates were around 20soles. Portions were large. Picnic style tables busy with locals drinking and having a good time. If you are like me and enjoy avoiding the touristy spots this is a must.

If you want a place that's not touristy, this is the spot. Lovely local place with excellent, very large dishes. Best to share your meal with one other person. Had the cuy and it was excellent. The chicha fruta is also very popular.

Our tour guide, a local guy who grew up in Cusco, told us about this place. He says he takes his family here for celebrations etc. We did not see more than a couple of tourists here. It was mostly the local clientele. Probably because...More

The long picnic table was filled with neighborhood adults drinking bottles and bottles of cervezas all night. It added to the local's only atmosphere which I got as an insider tip. I was able to view the kitchen as the cook axed the guinea pig...More

Many restaurants in Cusco are nice, but sometimes it's not easy to find one with real traditional food. La Chomba is not a tourist restaurant, it's for locals. Dishes are huge and cheap (considering how expensive Cusco can be) and they have a wide variety...More

If you are in Cusco you must visit this place as everydish is 20 soles and the portions are too big for one person. Most important is how delicious it is.

When we arrived, everyone in the place was a local. 2 of us split an order of short ribs and frutilla - the local corn beer. This place was the most authentic during our week here so far. Menu had tongue, goat, lamb brain, guinea...More

In times where all restaurants serve "gourmet" style (ie fancy presentation and small portions, fusion with other cusine) it is really refreshing to find this restaurant or "picanteria" where locals still go and eat as at home. the flavors are great, portions are generous (...More

The place is a tipical"picanteria"..means simple wood floor, tables and ambient , but the food is to die for!! We had all kinds of local specialties like fried udder , tongue and cuy and all without exception was great!

For 20 soles you get a massive portion of food. We tried the ribs and roast pork, and the mountain of meat, potatoes and salad was almost too much to finish. It is authentic food, and the restaurant reflects that. We were the only tourists...More
