I had been searching a month for a good breakfast spot, somewhere with coffee and a good amount of food, but also somewhere that wasn't $8 a plate nor a $0.70 piece of bread that would be leave me hungry in an hour. This plate was that, and to top it off, they open early, (6 or 7:00?), so for... More

Well, may be better than most of the bakeries. However the bread although it has a dark outer, jut is NOT German bread. The texture is nowhere near a German bread. I'm English and God knows what a German might make of it. I tried a pastry which I paid 3 dollars for and the filling was quite nice but... More

My wife and I stopped into this bakery at least four times during our visit to Cuenca. We were never disappointed with any of our purchases. Just make sure you walk the right direction from Plaza Calderon, otherwise you will be hungry and lost for awhile. The best breads we found in Cuenca. Well worth looking for.

The bakery is excellent. Whenever we are in the area, we make it a point to stop and pick up breads and some of their delicious pastries. We usually get the carrot bread loaf (not sweet) and the Danishes. The donuts are some of the best in town. Most of the friendly staff speaks English, Spanish, and German. They also... More

The best bakery in Cuenca, excellent rich, flavorful breads, buns and heavenly sweets. Best to return regularly and try different breads and sweets each visit. Also a great place for coffee or light lunch. Beware, usually sold out by 3 pm.

Expensive but increible homemade breads, rye options and great cakes. We went here on our first cuenca discovery trip last year and one loaf would last us a few days, well worth the price.

Their stuff is very good. The people are very friendly and can speak English, Spanish und Deutsch. They have made two great cakes for us. They also have a good lunch in the atrium.

Do not eat at this restaurant! I came here for lunch and felt sick afterwards. All I ordered was the soup (which I was told was $1.50 and then got charged $2.00 for since "prices are increasing for the new year") and their juice/pastry. Before this, I had bought bread at the cafe and thought the bread was pretty good.... More
